I have an e-book up on my site for college students on how to get good grades and ace any interview. I graduated with a 4.0 and had 6 offers in the middle of the recession I've been kind of lazy with coming up with different ways of promoting it. I saw one thing, I think it was listguy.com was offering 1 million college emails for $1,000 What do you think?
If those 1 million college emails are legit(which I doubt it is) then go for it. It is likely that this will end in tears though, if you really wanted to try it anyway then start from small lists first.
I don't think it's a good idea. There are plenty of other ways, even free ways that you could build traffic without getting in trouble for spamming.
even if they are legit emails id go with promoting your site for a fair while before shelling out 1000$.
Do a lot of research first but i think it will be a waste of time and you will only be throwing your money away.
I second that motion. You really don't know the quality of those emails, plus you could end up in the spam/junk mail filter and not get anyone signed. Sounds like a good waste of $1,000 that way. If you have that much money to spend on getting traffic, I would suggest a PPC campaign. Just do some research and pick the niches that you wish to target. Also you could probably get a halfway decent SEO guy to help you for that amount of money and would get organic traffic from the search engines. But just keep in mind that SEO takes patience and doesn't drive traffic overnight like a good PPC campaign would.
Never use "paid-for" traffic. Most of them are scams. If you do spend your money on it I advise you to research it a little bit first. I recommend just advertising your website at local colleges if you can or online forums for college students.
