Hi, I wonder if anyone here markets to Asian markets / languages and how it is going? What type of services or goods you're selling and what about the pricing and buying power there? Any info would be much appreciated! Thank you Sandy
Asian people rarely buy stuffs online, and "cheap stuffs" in western countries are considered "expensive" there.
Yep upto an extent. bw in ebay, there are lotta ones buying from india and that too expensive things.
go to google.co.in and post your content in .in domain sites it's will help you out to get traffic from india.

@yoes depends on which part of Asia you are talking about. If you are talking about Japan or Korean than I doubt it.
I am an Indian and have a lot of Indian traffic in many of my sites all these years. And I would say that you are right to some extent but also wrong to a lot. I cannot tell for South East or East Asia as I have not dealt in those traffic and markets till now directly. But I can say for the Indian traffic mainly. Indians nearly did not buy any products a few years ago. But as I have seen in the last few years it has changed a lot. Indians still buy a lot lesser than their Western counterparts online. But nowadays the percentage of Indians buying online has increased a lot. However, Indians trust mainly reputed websites instead of small websites while buying online. An Indian would buy easily for Ebay India, Indiatimes or rediff shopping or makemytrip, travelguru or most other websites but wont buy easily from a small website. People also buy sports, movie tickets etc. online without any problem but that again from reputed sites. And frankly speaking Indians trust more on companies which show ads on TV rather than an unknown online company. Even a crap company which advertising on TV will gain much more trust amongst Indians rather than a more trusted online company. It is also partially due to the fact that internet has only spread in recent years in India but it is increasing at a rapid pace. A few years ago there was not even a single website advertising on TV but now at least 10-15 websites spend millions or even billions of dollars in advertising on TV channels. Half of the big upcoming Indian websites are itself created by Indian news channels and networks including a few channels and websites dedicated to shopping itself. Regarding what sells more in India online it is electronics product without a tinge of doubt. Maybe it is because more techies are on the internet in India or the young generation is there who like gadgets but it is electronics gadgets and techie products which sell the most online. Rest airline tickets, travel packages (from reputed websites), sports tickets (India's biggest sports event currently IPL sells nearly all tickets online), movie tickets (from reputed websites especially bookmyshow), jobs, matrimonial sites (trusted) etc. sell very well online. So, Indians buy a lot online nowadays and it is increasing at a phenomenal pace but they buy from brands and reputed companies more than small companies or websites. If you are looking for only Indian affiliate networks, then you might like to check shoogloo and dgm india which are the two affiliate networks perhaps with the biggest amount of trusted companies. But frankly speaking most of the big companies mainly advertise on adwords and CPM companies etc. rather than these affiliate networks. The situation is improving but it will still take a few years till you see the huge amount of sales online in India. India is changing and things are changing with days and months. We are also waiting for that moment where Indians spend a lot online.
The Buying power in Asian Markets is relatively low as compared to the Western markets. But if you are into selling of such a product which is used globally, and not very expensive, chances are there that you can do well even in these markets. I use Referforex as my forex affiliate program and i cater a descent amount of potential customers from asian markets as well.
