Depends on the domain name and on it's history and the development level. I suppose some of such domain names can be found as useless.

random 3 (or 4) premium letters - low $xx
pronounceable/brandable - high $xxx
semi pronounceable - low-mid $xx

The length of it can't determine its value.I still think that it depends on whether you can find its value and know
how to promote it.

 

It might not be worth a lot unless it's something that's specifically in demand. Otherwise it's just reg. fees.
