Sorry to sound like a noob but maybe I can get some help here.

I just purchased (with real mone ) office 2007 and installed it over office2000 ( embarrasing enough) and all seems to be okay.

The big problem is that all my Word files cant be opened with a double click. Also the "Word" icon isnt there. I can opene the offcie word and from there, open any office file I want.

If I right mouse click on one of these word files and use OPEN WITH I cant start it either.

In the meantime I have uninstalled office 2000. Excel works fine and all the icons are showing on the excel files.

If anyone had the same problem and managed to sort it then please let me know...

    Would appreciate any help

That's not a problem... Try searching in the program options about the files association. I think that you should have been asked about that during the installation progress but... Also you can right-click on the 'doc' document --> Properties --> Opens with: ... --> choose 'Change...' . Then select the MS Word and you're cool. There are also a lot of other ways to associate the 'doc' files to open with MS Office.

hi and thanx for the reply.

This is somethign I have tried to change......when I try to change the file association to open all word.docs with WINWORD.EXE it doesnt accept it and all I am left with is the usual list of EDITOR and WORDPAD to open my word files with.

The un-install of old program had done the damage after you installed newer version. The best thing to do is to uninstall latest version now, restart pc, and then reinstall it.
