Is PR 8 difficult?

Very - it seems that it becomes exponentially harder as the number goes up ;-)

 

It's almost imposible to reach for personal website, since www.google.lt (Lithuanian Google search only have PR8.)

 

I think it is a bit difficult to get higher PR blogs, more so with PR 8. It is achievable but it takes time and a lot of hard work on your part at the start. In time though, with proper link building, marketing and quality content to your site, it can be reached.

Pr 8-9-10 are basically time dependent.The older domain the better.
Mostly occuring on 5+ years domain or highly popular and backlinked from variety quality websites from round the globe.

It is difficult, you not only need hard work, but also smart work.

 

Don't focus on obtaining a higher PR. It really doesn't mean anything. Just do what you do, and it will come naturally. If you're going for some PR, then go for PR 5 or 6. Not 7. You'll only waste your time...

Yes it's little bit hard to get PR 8. But now onwards Google don't give more important to PR. So don't worry about that.

Getting PR8 is extremely difficult to achieve but not that impossible.
You can only achieve this by having high quality backlinks on high PR sites.

 

It is not hard to get a PR8 with organic site growth like twitter, facebook, other web2.0 with controlled and good content.
Otherwise it is not possible to gain such a PR. YOu can do everything. Spam to gazillion blogs and forums or anything. It is not possible.

 

Indeed, it isn't impossible but almost. It will take some money to get there, don't think for a second you'll get PR8 for free After all, yahoo.com has now PR8.

It is not "Impossible" that you pressed on..The thing is , its a matter of time and what a website deals with.Webs Owners/new Bloggers want PR 8 in 8 days n that is the matter...

I see pretty chances for a website dealing contents like article directories with nofollow as compared to say , a wallpaper website which is all dependent on title and tags for ranking...

And also some people say quality content quality content..NO ! It is effective when accompanied by strong and relevant backlinks...New in SEO's only understand that backlinking from Social Bookmarking will get them to the top...
Another mistake..Google gives importance to sites which has more backlinks that outlinks...

So ! At that point Digg.com with pr 8 < labnol.org with pr 6

Also getting backlinks from .edu domains is highly effective in campaign..

 

You're very right about the PR8 in 8 days. I've encountered along the road big companies that wanted things like that and they didn't understand what we're dealing with here.

Anyway, the advice from Matt Cutts regarding high PR backlinks goes around another big issue than that number you see in Google Toolbar: backlink's neighborhood - almost all of the neighbors of a high PR website are good ones and that helps you in SERPs too.

 

It's difficult to reach PR8. But there are sites that have PR 8, i'm wondering' how they do that.

Totally agree with you, as the most dominating website like w3c, orkut, facebook, google, yahoo, twitter, wiki kind of websites have such high PRs, it is actually very very difficult to get PageRank above 6, until six it can acheived, but PR7/8/9/10 lots of work involved
