Hello, I am starting my second round of link building for a site I run, and primarily plan on contacting other related site, and high authorities on my topic. i've done this once last month (just about 6 weeks ago) with fairly good success. I thought i'd run this one by you all and try to pick up a few helpful pointers if I can, before starting round two. So - please post a few tidbits of linkbuilding wisdom if you can. Thanks!a
Make sure your email's dont look like spam. Tell the owner what you like about their site, and why you want to link with them.
Try using social sites like Digg. If it is good content that people like, you will get backlinks naturally.
In addition to Digg, try del.icio.us or other Social Bookmarking websites, IMO they are the future of Search Engines. I also use the Link Buying area of these forums to buy and sell links.
posting (useful) comments in blogs may help also (of course if they are't using rel="nofollow". Another great idea is to place a link to the site before contacting them. Ask them if they mind if you link them and if they not, if they would do you a little favour and place a link to you.
You can greatly improve the number of backlinks (in the thousands) using free link exchange programs such as http://outranker.com (shameless self promotion darn useful piece of script though!)
i would highly recommed you visiting http://searchenginewatch.com/showPage.html?page=2160301 to findout 131 (Legitimate) Link Building Strategies..
one second thought, you also might want to check the quality of all the existing website before you start with the new one. make sure you send a personalised link reminder email to increase your linkback ratio. make sure you are linking to ALL related and quality sites (Google)
You wont believe but my website is just 4 months old and in just few months I have generated more than 2000 links towards my website.
Me too, thats great work to get 2000 backlinks so quickly, are these quality links and if so can you share the ideas?
