    Hi All,

As there are many Indians & Pakistanis here I would like to ask you a question here.

Here is my question : why do you think Pakistani players were not picked up in IPL Auction ?

Even though they are t20 World Champions and ranked #1 in t20 Cricket Rankings.

So what do you think is it Discrimination or Politics ?

Its not about IPL its about Pakistan & India.I know IPL is a moneybag and in cricket you can't do it like its in Football.

But my question is why didn't they buy Pakistani players even though they are best in t20 cricket. Is this because of Politics ?

    Pakistans are hated in India.

Why would India accept a country who regularly sends terrorists to its land?

Sorry to say but There is no Place for Pakistanis in India.

    Visa Issues
Franchise don't want to lose fan base (especially after Mumbai 26/11)
    Security issues
Patriotism on the part of the franchises

Even I agree when it comes to national security, we should have a no nonsense (Israel like) approach, why pretend to be friends when you know that they hate you and are hell bent on harming you

So what you are saying is that its about Politics ? right ?

I think its not about fan base. You and me and all of us know that who is the best t20 player and even people in India like him but unfortunately its well planned by Indian Government to Insult Pakistani players.

IPL will not lose anything other than pakistan TRP and revenue if they really miss anything at all
pak players were not involved in IPL 2 as well

its not jealousy or any thing but franchise owners are scared of any incidents which may disturb their already poor relations with the pakistan and this time there might be no visas given to the pakistani cricketers

If pakistan cricketers take part, obviously some fans would like to travel to India to watch them so again an un-necessary prob with fan issues, I think India is already facing too many issues and its better to keep them away, though I would not have issued their names in the auction but might have said in simple terms we are not looking for pakistan players at the moment, ir-respective of the performances, tensions are high and we don't want any pakistan nationals, we might look at u in future

IPL is an Indian sports league not an world cup where all teams take part, its totally up to the Indian franchises on whom them want and what they want, rest all is just blah blah

Well caring isn't an issue its about Sports. We know that if you won't bring big players in IPL it won't be succeeded & we also know that many many players have backed up from IPL and all low quality players are taking part in it.

Lets look at previous versions of IPL.1st one went awesome because there were high quality players from all the countries.2nd one went a not that awesome as it wasn't in India and crowd support wasn't that good and second reason is that Big Pakistani players and English players weren't there.

Now you can estimate that this time many many of big Cricketers are not taking part in it and less known cricketers are in it.

So in the end it won't effect Pakistan or any other country because they were not also in 2nd edition of IPL but it will effect India and IPL and it will turn into a total loss.

actually if you see recent past PCB was actually forcing BCCI into approving the players, when the visa weren't cleared earlier, if PCB kept quiet this would have not raised
at last the business played its ugly venture in it and I am really surprised with pak players comments of IPL to be taken over by ICC, IPL isn't International Premiere League, its Indian Premier League,

I will agree to the fact the way the pakistani players were showed the door wasn't good but you have to acknowledge the fact that there was no much further comments on any one

what would u do, if pakistani players are booed in India, that would have created much worse impact on both nations, so having them away for the moment is just decision but action failed to be taken in a much wise mode

Well I agree with you on some extent but still I think that why it happened with Pakistan ? why they are not only issuing VIsa to Pakistani players ?

The truth is that no matter how much excuses we give these all are waste but the fact is the Political issues are the reason why Pakistani players were rejected.

the IPL franchises were reluctant because they don't want to select a player who might sit out because of visa problem if it had occurred

The problem is only with pakistan and not any other country, its the country which now the Indians are most angry at especially after the Mumbai Terror Attacks, you can't deny that. Indians wouldn't mind any other country player as to the pakistan players

politics are important as if the Indian politicians failed to tackle tension in India, India might have been at war with pakistan soon after the terror attacks, the politicians played a good role in here at least avoiding a war

If you actually note, even the bangladesh players missed out, Shakib Al Hassan is in pretty good form, but he missed out in this version of IPL and every one is ignoring the fact

politics do play a role but they don't decide the people's interest, even if visas were permitted if pakistani players are blocked at all locations it will be disaster

its safe for the pakistan players in India, if IPL was held out side India, pakistan players def. might have made it into the ranks

    Shakib-Al Hassan Vs Shahid Afridi?

You can't even defend upon the statistics, Peace would have been much more if they were are allowed to play a brotherhood would have been re-built. This matter made more distance between Pakistan and India, Its not about Color, Creed or Nation its about justification. I don't feel bad if they weren't selected as i always wanted Pakistani players not to play in any league except there country matches or county.

    I believe

"When the cricket world wakes up, hungover and bleary-eyed, to another Twenty20 World Cup in May, the Pakistanis will be fresh, lively and desperate to remind the world that no matter how good your party is, without an impromptu 5am limbo dance, it can never, ever be called great "

India vs pakistan could have helped in peace process and my be pakistan players inclusion in IPL made pak happy, but there might have been serious tensions with the local organizations in India - it might have turned very hard to control for the govt.

I think this was real good way to answer Pakistani govt that if they would not co-operate with India in other terms they are going to get snub in future as well.
