I noticed a lot of people have been complaining about bloggers who steal original content and post the entire article as their own without attribution.

Is there a way to report these bloggers to google?

I tracked 5 bloggers who posted the entire article on their site without permission from me on my ping back and saw they were all located in the Philippines and they were stealing content from my site right after I posted it.

I asked nicely to some of them and their reply to me was tough luck or they told me to fuck off, another guy when I emailed him and told him about him stealing my articles and he told me that he is not doing this to make money and he isnst making any money on google adsense or ppc and its very little, but I tracked him to another site and he lied and was bragging about his adsense pay on another site.

and he said he was making $150-250 US dollars a day, and that his technique is black hat and he just takes content from other sites and posts them on his site with meta tags.

He even had pictures of him with some sports memoribillia he bought from his adsense earnings.

He also said he puts a disclaimer on the bottom of his site just in case someone has a problem with him stealing original content so it makes it ok to take articles.

this really bothers me when people do this cause I spend hours writing articles on my site only to have this guy post the article within minutes of me putting it up for google news so this guy can reap the rewards.

I am not even making 5 dollars a day yet this guy is using my articles and others articles to make money.

These guys arent even posting 5 sentences and linking back to the original article, they are taking the whole article and posting it on there and just saying the name of the site they got it from.

Anyone can help me stop these guys from stealing my content?

Depending on the location of your blog... for example do you have access to the server side.... then I would consider blocking their IP addresses if you say you have successfully tracked them down! Secondly I would report them to the hosts of your blog...the only option really if you don't have access to your server! There are an increasing number of websites now blocking access from Filipino users simply because of the increasing amount of illegal activity coming from that region and these sites openly claim this!

The solution: Deal with it. It happens to 9/10 legit bloggers.

"Technically" what they are doing isn't "illegal". By posting your content on the WWW you are in a way giving your consent for others to use your content as you please. Unless the content is copyrighted of course, which I'm assuming it is not. You should be grateful that they are at least putting the title of your article out there so that it might drive some traffic back to the original location.

    ...good luck!

Blocking their IP addresses alone would not be effective. With simple freeware software, they can run their entire computer through a proxy, or simply their browser in which they are posting articles. Because of this they can have a new IP address to post from within seconds and at an unlimited supply. Because of this, cutting off Filipino access will also stop very few of them as they will only switch on USA proxies and then you are S.O.L.

You are correct to a certain extent! It is also possible to block Proxy Servers...I guess it depends on how badly you want to stop them because obviously you run the risk of losing a lot of readers!

I use a wordpress how can I ban them from my site? I asked some other guy and he said he bans all filipino ips from viewing his site he said they dont even click ads much anyway..

I tracked them from ping back comments and you wanna know something else dispicable?

I checked their IP and these clowns are stealing my articles but yet posting comments on my site saying this guy just wants hits and clicks...they are stupid enough to think I cannot see its the same ip with a different name leaving those comments telling people to not go on my site.

So basically these guys telling people not to go to my site but yet they are stealing articles from my site like its their own and are making more money than me.

and them saying this guy just wants hits but yet thats what they are doing is stealing peoples content to get hits and people click on their ads.

Wow the only solution is if Google Adsense bans Filipino traffic from using adsense.

didnt they do this with India before?

I know other PPC sites dont allow non American or none British traffic.

How do you get a copyright?

Can I report them for posting copyrighted articles? They posted entire articles from sports illustrated.

I dont have a problem if they post the 5 sentences and a read more linking back to my site.

But they post hte entire article so they can have keyword rich content.

Is Wordpress installed on your own server or are you using the Wordpress site? Unless you are using your own server or have access to the server you wont be able to ban them yourself!

Don't just brag about your site copied by a filipino blogger, prove it. Can you at least post/pm the offender site where your article is copied? This is not fair for Filipino blogger.

I guess it's unfair to mentioned that Filipino Bloggers, not all Filipino bloggers do the same thing as you're complaining. It so happened that there are some Filipino bloggers that shamelessly doing this BH thing.

There are some bloggers not only Filipinos but lazy IMers around the world who want to earn money quick, and most of them using rss scrapper script.

But most of us who have been on the IM world for long time respect fellow IMers property.

If you can show as the link of the site you mentioned that copy your content we can help you to trace who own the said site or maybe help you to ask the blogger to fix the problem.

If you want to report something, I guess you can report to google the page that copy your content just show to them you prof.

Its very difficult to handle these kind of 'copying' situations. You can file a complaint and go through copyright law, but majority of people wont bother with the costs and time.

don't make that hasty generalization. stealing is everywhere, and even if the one who stole from you is a Filipino, implying that all Filipino bloggers are stealers is definitely out of context. there are a lot of Filipino IMers here who are doing good business here.

post something that will entice people to help you (like what eli03 had offered), not something that will make enemies from other members

    my $.02

I am also Filipino blogger and I am not really blogging about sports stuff since it is not my cup of tea but I also experienced the same sentiments some of my articles from health and celebrity blogs were posted and copied by some bloggers from different country. I think it is much better if you just place copyright protected for your site so you can deal with them legally. It is much better to post the site of those bloggers who's copying contents from your blog/site here so we can address them your problem and we can really know if they are indeed Filipinos.

But its unfair for you to say to ban the entire Filipino traffic in adsense just because of some Filipino bloggers fault ...There are loads of legitimate Filipino bloggers who's not doing the same thing as you implied.
