The link to Matt Cutts answers are a bit dated now. Google has flip flopped on on follow. I use them on outgoing affliate links and seem to encounter no ranking penalty. If I don't use them I seem to get a ranking penalty. All SEO is speculation. But Cutts as recently as Feb 2009 seemed to imply... if not directly state it's a good idea to still no follow affiliate links even if page sculpting is dead.
Here is an example; Where exactly will I add no follow tag here <td valign="top"> <p><b><font size="2">New phone</font></b></p> <p><font size="1">Unlocked for Worldwide Use .</font></p> <hr /> <input value="454340" name="XXX" type="hidden" /> <input value="2205450" name="XXX" type="hidden" /> <input value="210545" name="XXXX" type="hidden" /> <input value="http://www.XXXXX.com/XXXX.html" name="url" type="hidden" /> <input value="order now" type="submit" /> </td> </tr> </table> </form> <img border="0" width="1" src="http://www.XXXX.com/XXXXXXX" height="1" /> Code (markup):
agreed 100% there are a ton of web guys I know with page rank 5-7 websites that sell tons of links. Tons of outbound paid links that its not even funny.
