Is opening your own sites = violation?

I notice that when I open my own site or refresh them, I gain the adsense ads impressions, sometimes i few cents. Is that violating google TOS? I didn't click them though!

Do not do it excessively. Whenever I view my own pages, I usually turn Javascript off just to be on the safe side. Google realizes that you must view your own pages to see how they look when you are developing them, but they will be able to tell if you reload them excessively.

The other reason I turn Javascript off is so that I don't corrupt the stats since I used them quite often and don't wish to count my own impressions.

If using Firefox, go to Tools, Options, Content and uncheck the "Enable Javascript" box. It effects ad impressions because the whole ad is javascript...if you don't run javascript, the ad will not display, thus no impression is counted.

Good tip. I also just disable scripts all together with Firefox, no script, its a plugin, I don't like to run up my impressions for Adsense.

It doesn't matter. I edit my sites about a hundred times before I'm ready with them.

to be honest, I can't see how it would have any relevance, afterall you get paid per click NOT impressions with Adsense. When I'm developing new sites, or redeveloping existing sites there are times when I refresh the page constantly, and of course never click my own ads, and it has never been an issue.

Don't do it excessively. If you do it randomly just for checking, then you are OK.

I remember this question being answered by a Google member. It went like this, if you DONT click your ads, your account is safe... Provided you do not keep refreshing the page again and again for lowering CTR..

I don't its against the google TOS. I've using Adsense from the last two years. I frequently open my website and post through my online admin panel. I think if you don't click your ads, your account is safe. don't ever click your ads from the PC you login from or from the PCs who have shared IP.

Yeah, some people just keep refreshing their sites to lower the CTR. If only they used that time to build a few backlinks.
