My biggest problem with SEO is that whatever the sales pitch , what it amounts to is getting sites on page one as long as you pay. Once you stop paying, you go back to where you were, and those long term agreements. Nothing done lasts.
SEO is an evolving game, it keeps changing and constant change is the buzzword You dont have to pay though, if you can do it yourself and read threads on this forum Of course, once in a while outsourcing some creative jobs to professional will not do any harm, rather helps you in spending that time in doing what you can do best
It is better to learn and implement SEO knowledge instead of keep on paying to SEO experts. But to learn you may pay once to your SEO expert and ask him to give you tips how to keep your site up on ranks
I agree with that. Search engines is continue to evolve, it change from time to time. We need to be updated with that changes or else we will be left behind by our competitors. That is why SEO is really a challenging one.
I do many of my own tricks to get better ranking and I must confess i didnt take up any ideas here, but I'm of a generation thet learned to comp in my 30's -40's and can only devote an hour or less a day to this. I can do my billing for 8 hours straigght , but the disc ipline of blogging, keyowrds, directory submission etc, eludes me. Im just a business man who knows about this stuff. In now way a geek or nerd, no disrespect intended. I cant even find minimum wage help to do it for me.
Then they're not doing it right. That sounds to me like they're buying paid links that get removed when the contract stops. If the ground-work of the SEO is good, it'll last - the onpage stuff, the quality links - you stand the risk of sliding back down again if you stop, as your competitors overtake you - but if you're immediately back to where you started - it was a short-lived strategy from the start
SEO is good when it is free Whenever they charge for it, it is considered SEM in my opinion. But it is true. you need to keep up daily with stuff in order to stay ranked.
SEM=Search Engine Marketing. It is a combination of organic SEO efforts and paid marketing to promote your site. I have created a video to explain the basics of SEO to novices. It is based on a lot of what I have learned on this forum. If you browse this forum, you will learn a lot too. People here are very good at sharing knowledge and expertise. Please check out http://onlinemarketingchronicles.blogspot.com to get an idea about SEO and then browse threads and ask questions here. I guarantee you that you will learn a lot and it will benefit you immensely.
On another note, SEO initiatives need to have a purpose...what do you want to do? Increase website traffic, increase inquiries? Set yourself a goal...if your traffic is not super, but you are reaching your inquiry numbers, then things are ok!
My goal is reachable. I own a liom/concierge. So all I need is the phone to ring. Whenthe economy was doing well....the phone rang plenty,,,my site was 205 of all my biz, plus accounts that opened and used me on a regular steady basis from my site. We have no customer service so no onne has to press prompts. We answer the phone ourselves. Right now, my site is very well ranked,,,,but the economy does not get people to want my product. so the fact is,,.,,, we're all dressed up with no one to look at the picture,,,,difference between a diner and a five start restaurant.
Hi! This is true that when we do SEO for our URL then i will be ok for some time and after that your site will need SEO again. well i think it will be better for you to hire any person who are well versed in all work you deals in so he/she will do SEO also,or Learn SEO tips from your provider also.that will save more money also
also, asked and answeredx, my guy does a bang up great job and my ranking numbers prove it. The consumer confidence index was 55.9% today and we got 3 inquiries, maybe thats a sign of a turnaround.
Nice to hear, Russell! Things hopefully are turning around for all of us. Did you convert those 3 inquiries?
Remember your sales math, you gotta hear from 100 to get 2. 2% is a proud salesmans number. But, 2 of them are still on the hook, so say a little prayer for me.
