Guys i wonna target 4keywords. let say:

    los angeles walking tour,
    but losangeleswalkingtour.com is not available.

However google adwords tool shows that
los angeles walking tours brings more traffic than
los angeles walking tour. And walkingtourslosangeles.com is available.

So my question is: when smbody will google "los angeles walking tours" which site will have SEPR advantage - losangeleswalkingtour.com(with exact order but not really exact match) or walkingtourslosangeles.com(with exact match, but differnt order)

Use hyphens in the domain name like: los-angeles-walking-tours.com
It's perfectly fine to use hyphens, in fact hyphens are better than continuous words. You can use upto 3 hyphens. If you need any further infomation/help, let me know.

To be really honest, it would not matter what domain name you choose if you dont SEO your site. For the order of the words...it doesnt matter either...any order would help you rank for those keywords as long as they uniformly spead in the page...

For two rival sites yes...but the thing is the domain name alone wont help you gain the top rank for that keyword anyways. Have a look at this The site that appears # 1 doesnt have the domain name with the keywords it ranks for :)

The domain name is one of the most important & crucial part of the website. Always include your main keywords in the domain name. Use hyphens in the name conventions of the website instead of underscore.

    Coolof,

    Nice thread!

I'd add to all said above that in my niche it almost doesn't matter whether your search for 'professional Joomla template' or 'professional Joomla templates' - search results almost don't differ. One page as maximum.

Also, I've never been to LA so if I had a chance to visit it, I would search for LA walking tours not for tour. Why? Simply because tours involves a selection and it means that I will be able to choose from lots of tours. In turn, it means that I'll choose the tour which interests me most, meanwhile tour is a tour and there's nothing to choose from. But, I'm not that SEO guru, so don't listen to me :D

Lots of my personal useless suppositions - will they help you? I doubt.
And thank you for that SEOmoz link. Very useful.

Good luck with your tours, anyway.

first and the foremost things is to try for the domain name with hyphens, it all it is not present.Go for the suffix or prefix for your site.

The hyphen thing may all be true... my thinking is since a majority of affiliates or IM's use hyphens, this may tag it as such and hurt you... I don't know for sure. I wonder?

The first half of this was correct, the second was not.

Domain names are CRUCIAL to your success online because it houses the single most important component and that is your BRAND NAME.

Everything online is dependent on BRAND. So buy domains based on the brand name and DO NOT buy based on any expected SEO benefit.

The benefit from keywords in a domain name can be outweighed by a single link (and probably a crappy one at that.)

It's weird you see domains that are not relevant to a keyword search and you see other domains out there high in rankings and sometimes the weird one will out rank the make sense one.

It makes you wonder about how important the domain is. You can't say in every example the domain was the reason it ranked high.
