    1. Good content, good writing, good presentation.
    2. Unique, original content.
    3. Focused content - keyword specific.
    4. Perfect spelling - more important than you may think - a "quality" factor.
    5. Appropriate, concise file names and tree-like organization structure.
    6. Natural links.
    7. Webmaster diligence in ferreting out all the things that can bite you on the butt -
    - (Off-page: the www vs. non-www issue, transparent link buying, free-hosting, etc.)
    - (On-age: keyword-stuffing, hidden text, duplicate content, don't link to bad sites, watch out for links that go bad, etc.).
    - Those who monitor the above, seem to have better "luck".

    8. Time. Old is golden.

Perfect spelling? I would say not so perfect spelling because it can bring some traffic too :)

I agree with you 100%. I have even heard of people optimizing their sites for commonly misspelled words, as well as the correct spelling. Users do not always have "perfect spelling".:)

    Yeah, you folks are right.
It's just a personal thing with me.

Targeting misspelled words is common, and effective.
    But I don't do it.
Except a little bit. Like when I saw how many folks type in perscription, instead of prescription.
And gieger, instead of geiger. And ... oh, well.

What I had in mind was one of those foreign sites, whose misspellings are so prevalent, they simply are not going to get a good grade from Google for their English usage, if we are talking "trust" here. For specifically-targeted misspelled words, it can be the right thing to do. But when every other word is spelled wrong, no way. It just looks like cr@p. That's what I meant.

Another way to put it - There should be no UNINTENTIONALLY misspelled words. Sound better?

    1. 10s of thousands of machine generated sub-domains
    2. Billions of pages of scraped and machine generated content targeting 3, 4 and 5 word keywords.
    3. Javascript hiding affiliate out links
    4. Dozens garbage domain names ready to go as others are banned.
    5. A very inexpensive web host capable of bearing the brunt of GoogleBot indexing zillions of pages.
    6. A clever mind with little/no regard for common decency.
    7. ???
    8. Profit!

    You don't even need 10.

Don't forget a good list of high PR blogs that don't use NOFOLLOW to seed the whole network.
