they do. sometimes you have to unwind and forget about the stressfull stuffs in your life. spend some time alone or with friends, whichever makes you happy and comfortable. doing some things that'll satisfy you and will forget your worries indeed help. and also, trying to be possitive thinker. i do believe that laughter is the best medicine. life is too short to worry, enjoy every minute of't.
I journal a lot when I'm upset about something. Aside from that, trying to take my mind off of whatever has happened doesn't always work for me. Sometimes I just have to have a few days to cry, scream, whatever -- let it all out. Then I'm good. Most of the time, anyway.
Your question: How do you handle stress/failure? Spirituality, religion and humor really do help you reduce stress in your life. Anything that can help you relax and take your mind off the thing that is stressing you out is a big part of getting through stressful moments. You will also want to look into what is stressing you out before the stress becomes something more serious. I have a simple technique for reducing stress: If it stresses me out, I remove it from my life. This I apply to people and situations in my life. Stress can kill you if you don't keep it in check. As for failure, well that is not a problem, if you want to do anything in life you have to be prepared to fail. Failure is an opportunity to go back to the drawing board. As long as you can pick yourself up (anything is possible) then other than hurting your pride, failure is part of learning. You fail doing something one way, you do it another (think Edison and the light bulb). Failure is where spirituality and religion really come into play because you WILL need all the help that you can get to pick yourself up. I play with my cat, and sometimes it helps to go walking. But it doesn't help to walk the cat, unfortunately.
My husband says he 'doesn't do sympathy, he does jokes'. This is OK to a point, but you're not always in the mood for one-liners. Sometimes sympathy would be better.
