The key is To Find Quickly. Google offers a real neat and to-the-point results. Yahoo is better than Bing I think.
I disagree. Bing has not indexed many of my sites. If it did index, only partially. Unlike Google which indexes sites extensively. You can't find many things in Bing. You better go to Yahoo if you don't like Google.
The 80 to 90 percent internet marketing shares have Google. How you can say Bing will compete to Google.
That could be. What i mean is, for a general search, lookup, i really don't mind what to use. Maybe as a webmaster, in your case, your sites are setup to meet google and not bing?
Trying to compete with Google search engine in 2009 was very daring. Bing made a good start but Google has a decade of advance and is for me still the best search engine.. People who hate Google will turn to Bing but those who are used to Google won't change their habits. Anyway, we will see this year how things evolve...
bing is just a bud..and it is been doing great..one thing i can make sure..bing initiated design changes to google with awesome daily screens on their home page
That blind test site is a bit of an eye opener... I did 6 queries, genuine ones where I wanted to find stuff. 4 out of 6, Bing was more relevant. Yahoo didn't score once, leaving Google picking up the 2 remainder. I was interested in this thread as I've recently bought a new PC with Windows7 and for the sheer heck of it went with Bing as my default search, to see how it went. Bing usually does give different results, not necessarily better or worse, just different. A few times I've found myself selecting Google from the drop-down list to try again if I don't find something the first time. I don't, ever, recall trying anything else when I used to use Google... Fact is, Google just doesn't do anything dramatic that Bing doesn't. It gives an extra choice but usually whatever I'm after I can find on Bing. There's another reason I tried out Bing - I was finding it surprsingly hard to locate anything relevant, in fact I've come to realise I was conducting my searches in ways which I knew would make sense to Google, rather than made much sense to me! I think that's an important point, because in some ways you already know what the Goog will spit out. Wikipedia will be right up there for bland one word searches, domains and videos will come up for 2 or 3 words, longer text will throw up forums and blogs. It's so damn predictable you end up searching with a bias for how Google works. With Bing it's like being a kid again, with that old "What's out there?" feeling, rather than deciding "Shall I look or Wiki or see what the blogs are saying?" approach you get with Google. It's not about how well they're indexing YOUR domain, it's 'Do you get genuinely useful results?'. For that I'm starting to feel Bing has a distinct edge over Google, if only as so much spammy crapola has figured out how to rank highly on Google but not Bing. Even the classic search of my own name, with 'copywriter' on the end, shows a difference. Bing immediately returns 2 hits from my own website, whereas Google thinks forum mentions and linkedin are somehow more relevant than the actual website of the person named? Even Yahoo managed better than that, also finding 2 website links, albeit one an old dead link. I'm not sure superior search results will allow Bing to win, especially if you need such a head to head test to see the difference. However I do think people are getting increasingly fed up with Google. Far from being the anti-microsoft rebel they've become the established monopoly - and yes, they are arrogant. Not to mention that lifetime cookie and privacy issues. Google is everywhere and if you use their services as well they know pretty much everything about you. Just visiting a site with Google ads tells Google you've been there - by cookie. Right now that intense data-mining just means targetted ads. I hope it stays that way... AC

I don't think so .. Goohle is always doing well, so there s no weak points that bing can use to be better ..
Bing is competing against Google successfully only as a search engine. But as webmaster we all know that Google is not only a mere search engine for us. It has many more importance for us. For an example, consider Google Page Rank. To replace Google, bing has to come up with something similar to that. That is not an easy task at all.
