Not sure how to market my new site!

Hi guys, Zach here.

I have recently bought humorous.tv, and have made it into a pretty good looking site. Now I need to market it. What suggestions do you guys have? Also, do you guys know how to monetize a video website, as it is my first time having a video site.

I would advice you to do some youtube commenting and yahoo answer postings too it will give you some traffic to your site

 

blogs articles and forums are a few with twitter and ppc, these would all be useful for you my friend.

dont add a forum its hard to manage and if you dont have the traffic it will be a ghost town. Promote it on other video sites by watermarking vids and saying "checkout the full vid at xxx.com"

 

Yes, I agree with this. Don't add a forum until you have a decent user base. You can do the following:

1. Try related blog commenting.

2. You can also post ads on free advertising websites.

3. Use Social networking websites especially facebook, twitter, myspace and other big community websites.

4. Social-bookmarking on sites like stumbleupon.com, digg.com, delicious.com etc

5. Uploading videos on youtube and other websites with a link to your website in it. You can also upload part of your videos on these sites and ask the viewers to see full video on your own websites.

You can also try article marketing, Press Releases, adwords, Social Bookmarking and so-on...

From looking at your site, you won't have to do much marketing for it. The reason being is I have already bookmarked it and I think its awesome!!!!!!!

You should and will make a killing with this site.

Good idea, I'm using more latenight/snl videos, not original content, so that may be hard to do.

Do you guys have any estimates on amount of traffic I should be getting? Right now I'm getting 30-50 uniques a day... I'd like to be closer to 100, any tips?
