My site just build up about 5 months (nearly), I have built near 1k plus backlink, and I target for 3 keywords. Last 3 week, almost 3 keywords was nearly ranked. I was very happy, after that another 1 week plus my site backlink was disappear half backlink, I used backlink checker (http://www.online-utility.org/webmaster/backlink_domain_analyzer.jsp) to check it. And all my 3 keywords also fall down to page 25 to 26

I really frustrated about this thing! am I done any mistaken on my backlink builder? or anything I have done wrong? please advice me.

I am just wondering isn't is a google dance?

Keep building your backlinks at a steady pace. Google may have penalized you for building links too fast, but if you stay steady you should be out of the sandbox in anywhere between 2-8 weeks.

How did you build your backlinks? I am really curious to know how you got more than 1k backlinks.

I think the sandbox has nothing to do with your link building. New domains such as yours regularly get in and out of the sandbox, with corresponding variations shown in backlinks.

Last I build my backlink by blog comment with anchor text (do follow), after I found out that most the blog owner was setting nofollow, later I switch forum signature and web directory (with anchor text). But most the link I build was no related with my topic! isn't can hurt my web's SEO? please advice.:D

My domain name was in year 2003 (old domain), so I thought I build more than link in short term should be ok!:D

A number of people lost backlinks at the start of January. Some say it was due to a new Google algorithm. Any thoughts?

Same here and its now seems much slower to build new ones. It use to be a few submissions to social networking sites would get you listed quickly but it hasn't seemed that way since about January 1. Oh well, such as life with google...always a series of ups and downs...happiness and sadness..

I dont think it is a google penalty. Just may be you got more competitors doing quality high PR backlinks than you.

And 1k plus backlinks in 5 months? I guess it is too much. You should go at a slower pace I Guess. Else you are on the way to get banned by Google.

I agree. With the economy the way it is there are new competitors each day from all over the world. Since they are all out of work and they haven't got any customers to buy yet and keep them busy doing other things, they are putting in every minute of their day into building links too. The guys who have been doing it for a while and are making money don't want to give a single dollar away and so they are buying the good links.
