[help] with server load

    i have purchase this server
    Intel i7 920
    4x 2x 2.66+ GHz
    RAM 8 GB DDR 3
    HDD 2*1 TB
    connection 1GB/s

    i have WHM

    the problem i dont know why the server load

    Server Load: 0.82

    i dont have any website working on the server yet

    i have reboot the server its was 1 now is 0.82

    can anyone tell the bcz of this server load and if i can resolve the problem
    the company dont offer management of the server

    that's normal...the i7 920 is a quad core cpu. You shouldn't have any problems at all.

    If you have a control panel installed or even connected to SSH checking "TOP" - it'll use up SOME cpu. You shouldn't worry until you start to see it go to 10+ or something. The 920 core is pretty good. We use it on our servers and it's very powerful and stable.

    WHM does takes some load on the server. Though it shouldn't go upto 0.8 , but Its fine I guess..

    As njoker mentioned type top and you should see the processes which are eating system's memory.

    It's your dedicated server, I don't see why not.

    Although you should ask your provider - they may have certain restrictions on what kind of sites you can have.

    upload_max_filesize 2M
    post_max_size 8M
    max_execution_time 30
    session.gc_maxlifetime 1440

    i need to change them to
    - upload_max_filesize = 100M
    - post_max_size = 100M
    - max_execution_time = 3600
    - session.gc_maxlifetime = 14000


    how can i do that ?

    look at your php configuration editor - you said you installed whm and it should be an option on the left side. all those values should be there for you to change.

    This is the wrong section. You also have to understand how many people are viewing your site. Example if 100-200 people are on your site then 0.8 is good.

    I highly recommend you do some research about server administration before your server comes compromised.
