What is Affiliate exactly?

I'm new to this forum and I was hoping people from this community can tell me what exactly is Affiliate programs?

I was told from a friend this is the best place to learn. Hopefully with your gaudiness I will be well on my way.

Affiliate is actually the salesperson who takes your products to the potential customers by prompting them in their own ways. For every successful sale, you pay some commission to your affiliate partner.

 

Oh that makes perfect sense. So when a customer buys a product we both make money? Are there website that I can do this for?

Affiliate or publisher in internet marketing terms are the webmaster or online marketers who usually promotes the products of online merchants and earn commission per sale, click or lead depending upon the product or service.

If you are an SEO, &/or designer &/or very active on social network you can be an affiliate. As an affiliate you simply have to decide the market join the affiliate program selling product focused to your selected market and finally use the affiliate link provided in affiliate program panel to promote those products where ever you are good at on internet. Tht's it ....

Customers or visitors clicks on your affiliate link (provided on your site, blog, tweets, feeds, posts, etc.) and will be redirected to the merchants site wherein he/she will either buy a product or fill the lead for service. This will in turn earn you the commission.
