Hello all, I will have a free week next week to work on my website so I have set myself a challenge to try make 100 visitors a day by the end of the week. I'm going to do it without spending any money (because I don't have any) and I can't just add more content as my content is about my projects and I'm waiting on parts so with those aside can you give me any ways to boost traffic to 100 visitors in a week? Heres a list of what I plan to do already, most does not relate to SEO or generating traffic but just so you know. The quickest way to boost your traffic is to use social bookmarking on all of your pages. stumbleupon, digg, twitter, and reddit are the ones I use on a regular basis. Plan to bookmark a different page of your site on each of these 3 sites each day of the week, and you should easily surpass your goal of 100 visitors per week.
Dont forget Digg. Get Digg votes and get to front page and you will get thousands in just a few hours
Personally, I would do the following in this specific order: -Create a blog that is attached to your site using your domain. eg, www.domain.com/blog I would post relevant content to that, and have that flow into your Twitter account every time you add something new. This will boost your domain power as well as generate visitors to your site. A good platform for this is Posterous. -I would start marketing videos on YouTube and Viddler that are reasonably short, and are focused around open questions that inspire thought and curiotisy. This will lead people to your site through the link you profide in your description. Dont forget to use http:// in these links otherwise they wont link properly -I would send out at least 5 - 10 articles to Ezine Articles that week. This will generate intrest and backlinks at the same time for a sustainable result. -If your site is a blog, use a service such as Directory Maximizer to submit to a bunch of directories. -As far as Social Media goes, use it to your advantage. Post things on Twitter that inspire thought, that may lead them back to your site. Do this at least 5 times a day. -Social Bookmarking is good for temp traffic, do this a bit, but dont think of this as a sustainable method. Social Bookmarking does help alot, I use it alot, but I focus on more effective and sustainable methods. I mean, those are just a few things that I personally do, there is a ton more, but that should definitely increase traffic. I average about 200 TARGETED visitors per day doing less than that with extremely useful and relevant content, so you can do that as well I am sure. Good luck, just remember, short term doesnt yield results. I would probably better spend that time researching a sustainable method that requires less time, and a little more outsourcing, but that is just me.
LOL Post the same question on 50 forums - if you get 2 replies to each question you got your 100 visitors (I am sort of joking btw) Post the same question on 30 forums if you get 3/4 replies you got your 100 visitors. if u have a myspace or facebook making a blog from them to your site REALLY WORKS..i do this a lot with my affiliate sites and it works wonders.
Also think about monetizing that traffic you will have from all the suggestions above after all it is about earning money

Yes, social bookmarking is an effective way to drive traffic to your site. Don't forget to join Blog Catalog also as it gets high traffic from search engines. You can write also in blogging communities and put a link to your site on your profiles as well as your profiles in social networking sites.
