Hello Guys, I have a site for Destin Weddings. My site working without 'www' means like this (http://floridadestinationbeachwedding.com) So can i redirect my site? so it can work with 'www' (http://www.floridadestinationbeachwedding.com) Is this only one way to add code in .htaccess file or Is there any other way?? will it affect keyword ranking after creating site with 'http://www.domainname.com'? Thanks in Advance....
Well why do you want another method when .htaccess being simple and easy. If you need help with the .htaccess code, just google it, you will get perfect examples. Google treats www .floridadestinationbeachwedding.com and floridadestinationbeachwedding.com differently. Without www, it considers all sub domains too. So it affects site page/s indexing. But I am not sure if it will affect Rankings or not. Its always better to stick on to one format. Thanks.
If it is hosted on a cpanel enabled server and if your host permits, this is possible through the admin panel and need not write a .htaccess
Hi there, Redirecting will not affect rankings if it's properly done. There's a free lesson on our site that covers this. Go ahead and check the URL Canonicalization – To www or not to www? lesson. Hope you find it useful
Nope. thats not true. You cannot add www from Google webmaster tools. There you can just suggest Google to consider your domain with or without www while indexing the pages. However the actual change happens only when you do URL rewrite in .htaccess.
