Go to your dashboard, then settings, then permalinks, and in the custom box type /%postname% and only the post title will be in the url. If your .htaccess is writable, it will automatically update it, otherwise it will give you the info to copy/paste into it.

I like /%postname% but I see that some people add ".html" after it. Any advantage in doing that? Kevin
I think there is no extra advantage if you do that. As long as keywords are in the URL, you are doing it right
