How to Make My Permalinks Prettier?

    My links are way too long... for example...

    www[dot]blogname[dot]com[slash]category[slash]atlanta-blog[slash]atlanta-ballet-performs-spicier-cinderella[slash]

    how do I get rid of category and atlanta-blog in the permalinks?

    Go to your dashboard, then settings, then permalinks, and in the custom box type /%postname% and only the post title will be in the url. If your .htaccess is writable, it will automatically update it, otherwise it will give you the info to copy/paste into it.

    I like /%postname% but I see that some people add ".html" after it. Any advantage in doing that?

    I think there is no extra advantage if you do that. As long as keywords are in the URL, you are doing it right :)
