My survey links for some apparent reason are not clickable , I tried contacting jason and jeremy but no avail , can some one help me out !

You can cover your download link with a URL shortener such as Linkbee or Bit.ly. Maybe that can help.

The widget on CPAleads also has the option to change its opacity. You can set it higher so they see absolutely nothing of the page until they finish their survey.

I just signed up with this program yesterday, set it up a couple hours ago and have generated thus far about $11.52 which isn't too bad considering I only updated 6 of my 150+ posts with the gateway code.


@BuxP or anyone else: About the ANN and adult content sites with CPAleads. How does one identify or categorize a site to be adult? Is this porn and/or nudity? If nudity is also a tag for adult-related content, would this mean nude photography or movie review sites that may occasionally have nude images be categorized as adult content?

 

what I want is:

1. visitor comes.
2. visitor sees 5 ebooks ready to be downloaded(for example).
3. visitor clicks on one of the ebook link to download it.(let's say ebook A).
4. survey gateway appears
5. visitor fills in the survey
6. normal download dialog appears after he fills in the survey, visitor will just have to click on:"ok" to start downloading.

now:
1. if I use url shorterner servicer, the visitor will still be able to see the link before even clicking on one of ebook link, so he could just go put the shortened link into browser's address, press enter, and voila, he gets the book without filling the survey? Am I wrong? Since I havent tried this myself, but that's what I think...

2.Setting high opacity is the same as putting the gateway right before the visitor even have chance to know that there are 5 ebooks inside. I know putting the gateway on the www.domainname.com will cause the gateway to lock all pages in that domain name, but sometimes , you want the visitor to...you know...hang around first before you go hardcore

I was wondering if you were planning on adding more UK surveys to your offerings? Neverblueads/maxbounty and others have a lot of them that allow incentive traffic available and I feel this would benefit a large quanity of your publishers.

@1) Ahh ... the way I figure it is with long URLs that are annoying to enter into the address bar, the user eventually fills out a survey since sometimes it's faster to fill out the survey than it is to say... type in the link for each & many files. With the CPA gateway, I couldn't click on my download links and I think visitors can't either even if they try to work around it with noscript etc.

@2) You can setup the gateway to appear # of minutes after a visitor first loads your domainname so this gives them time to "hang" around. Then just setup the gateway to say something like "please complete the survey to gain access to the rest of the ebooks" and setup a length the access stays in effect.

Otherwise... I think you could also setup some script on your end to do a URL redirect to the actual download page. Something like "user click eBook link -> gateway pops up -> user finishes survey -> gateway closes -> page redirects to actual page with download link"

Alternatively, I think since the gateway "widget" is quite big 539 x 264 pixels, if you set auto-scroll on and figure out how to position it, it can actually just overlay itself on top of your links when the widget pops up on the visitor. This makes it so they can see your links, but as soon as the widget pops up, they can't. It's an alternative to the opacity thing at least.

 

There is a widget setting where the user isnt given the download link until the survey is complete. Just pick "downloadable file" instead of links on the page. Then you can just have a download button graphic for each ebook which they click to start the survey to earn the book, but there is NO link shown on the page to copy.

I use that for one of my Twitter ebooks and it works great.

 

CPALEAD has a excellent feature. look at the site I implemented it for ebook download. I am giving this link not for promotion, but to show that CPALEAD has solved every problem for any type of content.

Hey that's pretty neat! I setup my widget to be Downloadable File but how do you go about setting it up as a download button for each file?

Also, do you know if there's code or a way to make it so the widget always show up at the top of the page? I would like auto-scroll on and currently for me the widget always pops where the link is clicked, and with auto-scroll on it prevents me from scrolling down to see it.

 

You need to setup a new widget for each file and then put the widget on each new page.

 

Yea i just got done looking at the options they provide for downloadable file widgets. Seems that wouldn't be the feasible way to go for thousands of files.

Of course, I currently have it setup for download page containing files, but again the widget keeps popping up midway down the screen and not at the top of the page where I want it.

You can use any type of ads you like in conjunction with the CPAlead Widget. However I strongly recommend that you do not use any other types of ads that use overlays or popups. You want the visible content behind the Widget to look appealing to the end user, not another ad waiting for them.

 

Hi everybody, I started using cpalead in nov/dec '09 and, despite a low conversion using it on my proxy site network (there are too many free proxies online), I think it's a great system to make money and I'm eager to launch other bizs shortly using the cpalead gateway for downloadable ebooks and similar legal content....

Anyway, I'm curious and I'd simply like to know more about movie sites:
I've read about a site that has been sued, closed and fined for linking to other movie site pages, so it seems that not only hosting movies is illegal but also linking to them. What's your thought? ...But, maybe all could change with the use of inactive links to copy and paste into the browser address bar...in my opinion it may be legally different. Again, what's your thought?

 

IMO, it would still be the same thing as having an active link so you'd be in the same situation when it came to legality issues.

 

Quick question for the Devs, anyway to incorporate the postback when using the static links at cpalead (not gateway). Let me know or PM me thanks!

 

We are currently working on something to work with all the surveys not attached to gateways.. Expect that in a few days, The current workaround is to create a gateway with postback, and then tie in &gateid= to your surveys.

 

So I can work with the feeds, for presentation, and then add in the gateway ID of an existing postback/vc gateway at the end of the links to get postback stats from them as if they were done in the gateway widget?
