Hello All, I really need your opinion. I have a site, It’s a big site (15,0000 pages) , 2 years old. Google Indexed 100000 pages but Yahoo only 4k.If I Pay to Yahoo $299 and submit my site to Yahoo Directory .Is it worth for me? Is yahoo index my sites pages and Give me rank+traffic. Please suggest on this.
it depends how serious you are about your business. If you think you can recoup $299 quickly then yes. If you will have to eat Raman noodles and white castle to survive then no
then go for it.. enter your info and close your eyes at checkout when you hit the submit button . it alot less painful that way. kind of like going on a roller coaster. you don't want to open your eyes at the top because its scary. but its fun and enjoyable after that
Do you think they will do that because you paid to submit to the directory? Like an insider does something afterwards and hey presto, you have more pages indexed in yahoo.
1. Yahoo will add to Directory your Index page only 2. Yahoo says that being listed in Directory is NOT going effect your Yahoo SERP 3. Paying $300 for being crawled is stupid idea no matter which way you look at it. fastreplies
Be careful of some of the advice you get here. Some of its one part bull shit, and 3 parts post padding - with a hint of talking out of thine ass! Big Dream, I highly doubt a directory listing guarantees complete and total inclusion of every page of your site. There are numerous reasons why and how pages become indexed. I'd concentrate first on looking at that first. I find I get 10 times more Yahoo traffic and indexed pages than Google and I've never listed in their directory. I'm not saying don't list in their directory. There are multiple reasons why people do it, and other advantages far beyond that of rank, serps, indexed pages, etc. What I am saying is you need to look more at the optimization of your site and how and what you've done with regard to submitting pages/URL's directly to Yahoo. Other's here will frown on this, but the reality is that simply using the following linke: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit and using their Add URL link to submit your feeds and or pages will go a lot further than sitting around and waiting for it to happen. There's a reason site explorer exists, and its just for that - telling Yahoo that your site and or pages exist. Don't be afraid to list links to deeper pages or portions of your site or 3rd level domain names/vhosts. It works!!!
I just cant imagine yahoo working that way, its like them taking a back hander if they did, they wouldn't ruin their rep by doing that, if they do then im sure someone would of pointed it out by now. What you are asking about, expecting of yahoo is for an employee of yahoo to make sure that your site gets fully indexed or better indexed if you pay them, lol Do they take bribes? I dont think so.
The presence of your site in Yahoo! Directory does not mean that Yahoo! will more thoroughly index pages of your site. Your site just will appear in one of the best paid directories and nothing more. Also, it will not significantly affect to SERP of your website in Yahoo!.
A single submission has resulted in multiple listings in topical and regional categories in Yahoo.com directory and the English regional versions of the directory: •Yahoo! Australia & New Zealand •Yahoo! Asia •Yahoo! Canada •Yahoo! India •Yahoo! UK & Ireland •Yahoo! Singapore Doing a site:dir.yahoo.com "quoted search for listing title" search in Google returns 24 results, so many of these listings have been indexed. The site has more than just the index page listed in more than a single topical category. If relevant, Yahoo will list deeplinks in multiple topical categories. Individual pages/sections must offer significant content that adds to the category. Searching Google for site:dir.yahoo.com "deeplink listing title" returns 6 results. Not sure why anyone with a quality site who was serious about their sites wouldn't submit to Yahoo Directory. Unless of course they felt their site wasn't worth it.
How worthy is it? Does this gives you a loads of traffic on your site? I am just curious because my client is also planning to submit his site in yahoo directory.
I am also thinking to submit one of my websites to the Yahoo! directory. I will tell the results here.
Yes it is worth it if you value your site/business. You go into a very respectable directory, get a high pr backlink, and have that much more exposure online. Anytime you can get your site more exposure it is worth. However, as someone mentioned do not do it if the $300 is gonna hurt you financially. You never want to bite off more than you can chew. If $300 is within your budget to spend on your business than it is a smart move IMO.
Sorry, I'm going to have to agree also. $300 for 1 submission is way to much money. Invest it into something else.
