Aaron Wall at SEOBook.com has the best SEO ebook you can get. But it's a bit pricey. If you look hard enough, you can find older copies of it online... If you can't afford that then I'd suggest going to your local bookstore and starting w/ a book... even Search Engine Optimization for Dummies and avoid forums like these for a while until you have at least the basics down. There is a LOT of misinformation/bad advice that gets distributed in forums as if it were fact. And until you know how to tell the difference between fact and fiction, it's dangerous to troll forums. There is a process that I think you should follow when learning SEO like learning anything.

ALso I agree with the above poster about getting "All-In-One-SEO" plugin for wordpress. This is most recommended seo plugin of all

Why do you need any ebook when you are working on WP? Best is to find some good theme for your blog and then find necessary plugins for it. I think WP is the best and you don't need to have any prior knowledge about coding or programming.
