I registered dlking.info , thinking that I will buy dlking.com if a few days if my site goes well. But within a few days, somebody already registered that domain.

Is there any way by which I can quickly get dlking.com back .

    dlking.info: Created On:07-Nov-2009
    dlking.com: Creation Date: 27-Nov-2009

You'd have to make an $ offer to the owner.

I learned a while back to buy in the following order: 1 - .com, then 2 - .net, then 3- .org, then everything else...I've never had any luck starting with the .info but others have. Best of luck.
    cheers,
    James

You can offer the owner money and see if he wants to sell it to you. It is just like when you want anything else that somebody else owns.

I am sorry but you can do nothing in such a case. You should always buy a .com first... even if you have reasons to choose any other tld, particularly if you are afraid that your hard work would be taken advantage of, by a .com domain going in any other hands.

Yes you can get it back but you need to contact the .com owner and pay him some price to sell the .com to you.

By the replies, there seems to be no other way. No problem, I've learnt a lesson. Will contact the .com owner and ask him.

Between, I have heard something that if I have a trademarked name, I can dispute and get back .com because that's my trademark name. Is that possible.

Of course... but your trademark registration should have taken place way too earlier than the date of creation of the concerned domain name.
Also... you need to prove a good brand loyalty existing for it and also the money and time to devote to a legal battle!

All the pure five number and character .com domains have been registered...

on this case, you need talk with the owner, or wait..till it is deleted.

yes, i can't agree more, it's better for you to register dot net with a registration price than to grab the domain you can't get with high price.

I recommend you contact the actuall owner of that domain name to understand at least what is the price he wants.
Just a lesson for future: if you are serious about domain name and would like to have some more extensions - register them at the same day.
Domain name registration is instant and not very expensive process.

I had setup a rapidleech site there, I thought the site would not run long so it might not be worth spending even $5, but I bought .info and also already spent $50 on the site because it was going well. So, I wanted .com, but no problem, I will get new domain.
