Ban For Design?

People, I heard that Google can ban a website for using standard site template and design. Is it true? Has anyone experienced this? Actually before this day I thought Google can't even determine whether design is original or a template..

G does not care what the design is - content and backlinks are king.

Never had one banned for design, but a couple for content and both were open for interpretation.

 

Google really can tell, so do more original design, it won't do bad.

 

Agree with ian, using the standard design is not a bad thing, and google not ban this. The content and backlinks are most important.

 

Same, I have never heard of this before ever. I don't think this could possibly stick either. How could you prove unique on design?

 

I don't think Google will ban you based on your design... unless maybe you'd completely ripped off a major website. There may, however, be circumstances with google adsense whereby if they were manually investigating your account, your standard templates may give them reason to disable your account ie obvious MFA sites.

 

Well, maybe, if your design is really really very bad and very very ugly...

 

Google will not ban you for design but it may ban you for using blackhat or spamming

 

Yea I never have heard anything like this before...
