Are Blogs worth doing?

Hey,

I have a website at http://www.psdesignzone.com, I have heard that blogs really can get indexed faster and add alot of traffic to your website, so I created a blog at http://www.psdesignzone.com/blog/

My blog is mainly being used as a news feed, My question is, am I using my current blog right, and does a blog really help boost your traffic.

I'm writing what people would want to read, my question is, is it beneficial to do it in Blog format as opposed to just a regular website. I've heard that Search Engines 'rank' blogs quicker, is that true?

 

well most blogs are pretty well seo'd out of the gate like wordpress.

 

Ok, that makes sense, I guess i'll use a combination or something.

yea make ur blog attractive - play around with words and target the right audience.

 

I think getting a blog @ blog-sites like blogger.com would be beneficial, vs getting one on your own domain. Mine seemed to have gotten indexed faster.

 

well blogger is owned by google or connected with them somehow, maybe thats why blogger is faster
