After Digg made nofollow, how to get indexed rapidly in google?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by zorknov, Jan 20, 2010.

Many of us used to submit new sites to Digg to get indexed immediately in google.

however, with digg's new digg toolbar and the consequent nofollowing of the outbound links from digg, we need some other method.

What methods are there? Is Reddit and stumbleupon as effective as digg once was?

please help...i cant get my new sites indexed!

Normally I use forum signatures for fast indexing. DP is one of the top forums who receives frequent Google bots activities.

    So.. use your sig!

Just hit it with 100 social bookmarks. You can find somebody to do this for as little as 20 bucks.

nofollow doesn't really cause any stop on indexing. nofollow stop pr leak and any serp rank credit for the link. i have seen sites get on serp in as soon as 5 minutes when I submitted on Digg.

If you want to get indexed, there are easier ways to do it. If you want to rank, there are much better ways of doing it (long-term ways).

identi.ca is working fine for me to get my pages indexed. I also use a method to get my pages indexed using blogspot. I am successful particularly with new pages

We’ve made a few changes to the way Digg links to external sites that may impact some folks in the SEO community.

    I totally agree with webcosmo.
Here is quote from Google Webmaster Tools Help:
"The target pages may still appear in our index if other sites link to them without using nofollow, or if the URLs are submitted to Google in a Sitemap" - read more here http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=96569

The easiest way to get indexed fast is to use free classified websites. For example, new ads on my website indexed within 1 hour and any links on these pages will be also indexed.
Other option is to use social networks, like Twitter.
Also web directories can be helpful.

Go to some pinging service like pingler.com, pingomatic.com and ping your website. That should get your site enough exposure to get it indexed by the search engines quickly. Also submit to some high traffic high PR social bookmark websites with dofollow enabled. That way, search engines can come back via the link to your site and index your site.

Just because it is nofollow doesn't mean it won't crawl your site. It just prevents them from passing any "juice" to your site. Digg is still good for getting your site indexed.

Digg being nofollow means the page you want to get indexed has to have more unique content on it so that good wants it to be in the index... WITHOUT having the support of a solid powerful backlink to back it up.

Does pingler really work? I've tried a couple times and wasn't sure if it made any difference. Does it only work on blogs?

Well said - I get all my sites indexed via my forum - which supposedly has nofollow attribute - go figure that one!?!?

Forum is TVWorlds.com and works great for me and is over 5 years old (changed a lot RE forum software and this and that over time though) and I can even watch the SE's spidering at tvworlds.com/online.php if I feel inclined to do so
