I am currently utilizing article marketing to promote my websites but I've been hearing quite a bit about linkwheels and how they will be great for the new Google Caffeine. How much better do linkwheels perform against articles in the sense of SEO? Do I just setup the linkwheel and forget the articles or should I be using a combination of a linkwheel and article marketing to promote my sites? Thanks.
In my opinion link wheels are better, one. It gives you alot of traffic and two, it increases your serps on google. But of course doing both at the same time will be the best.
My vote is for using both techniques. A variety of sources for links will always help in the long run.
I think that In order to promote your website, you should follow both strategy of link building, so due to that you will get maximum traffic on your website.
Article submissions work better, but LW have their place. Just do everything in moderation and have a good plan. As long as you're providing quality content and a good site, the user/fan-base is what's going to be the ultimate strategry.

Recommend using both methods along with linkbuilding and other strategies. As others have said, a variety of methods is the best plan. If you are having people build linkwheels for you and they do it wrong - like have them all closed or easily mappable from Site A to B to C, D to E to C, etc - then some article marketing will help randomize it and "fix" the linkwheel problem.
link wheels has more pr juice and more search engine juice. Articles will get you traffic but for seo the best in my opinion is link wheels. Pr is based on authority, link wheels give you authority.
Both have its own if's and but's Yes, both are at different levels of backlink building methods Nevertheless if you want to see immediate results then article marketing is the way to go But in the long run link wheels do help, but google is fast catching up with such kind of techniques where in the value given to the visitor through such methods is NIL But in case of article marketing, if you provide a good quality article, you do get a backlink from the approved/published articles as well as reader value for the article, so you have a win-win situation and search engines have theirs too
