Ani.TV wants to buy Anim.TV

    Long time ago in 1999 i purchased the domain (http://anim.tv/) aka: "Animation Television" for $50 a year and since that day i keep renewing it and i still have it today. But a big company "Toei Animation" (http://ani.tv/) emailed me asking if Im interested to sell the domain for $25,000 USD and i refused.

    Is my domain worth selling it? :eek:

    Are you making any money with it? Do you have plans to develop? If no than sell it.

    Are there more companies that might want to buy it? Price depends on demand, I don't know the niche, but if demand is not high and this is the only offer you got since 1999 I would sell. You can usually get what they offered + 50% or even more. Just negotiate.

    Do you believe you'll be able to develop content on the domain name worth $25,000? If not, negotiate with them and try to get a little bit more. Developed or not, you probably won't get a much better offer then $25k. I'm assuming they are buying it because of the similarities of name, and maybe a possible branch off on their part. I don't think they are going to develop it, so in reality, it's a win-win.

    I always wanted to make a website about animation and with a domain like that it would hurt me to sell it.

    I could maybe make more then 25K with it if i start making a mini-deviant art website for the animation fans.

    Ok, but are you actually ever going to do it? Or just sit on the domain dreaming about doing it until all the people who want to buy it find something else? Be honest with yourself.

    That's very weird. There are zillions of hosting companies out there.

    If you aren't making any progress on developing the domain because you are having trouble finding a host, then you are definitely never going to do anything with it. Just sell it.

    Anime.tv = awesome domain
    Anim.tv = worthless domain that doesn't mean anything

    If I were you, I'd sell ASAP for anything over reg fee! For $25k you could get an great Anime domain to develop

    If i were u, i'd sell it right now. Ani.tv, who want to buy your domain is japanese company, TV channel i believe. They want to buy yours may be because the domain is match with their company name.

    A year ago I offered a guy on DP $300 for domain www.AdamLambert.com, an american idol domain. He laugh at me, he said someone has offered him 4,000 but he didnt give it away. He was hoping the real american idol would come and buy his domain for like 10,000+.

    Then it turned out that the American Idol use www.AdamOfficial.com as his official site. Hahahaaa... Now the domain means nothing, really

    Until now, he cant find someone buying his site, lol. And he desperately want to sell that domain.

    Honestly, I would sell it. A domain like anim.tv isn't really worth anything (honestly) unless it has some kind of attachment or sentimental value to someone. Animation.tv would have been worth a lot more on the domain market.

    Toei is a HUGE company that has been around forever...they did cartoons like Dragonball Z...so, at least you know it's a legit offer. I'd try to squeeze more money out of them.
