Hello, Why images on my website are not being indexed by google and yahoo? Where is more than 100 images that are about 700x600 size, but only two of whem are indexed in google and none of them are indexed in yahoo image search. Website is in my signature "free vector art".
see this url: http://images.google.com/images?hl=...atvectors.com/&aql=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi around 60 images indexed by google
Ok, I guess I'm missing the point.... what has been done to the images posted by seoperson that make them more Google friendly than those on the Great Vector site. Thanks in advance for the clarification.
I'm allready aware that i have arround 60 images indexed. But you see those two images that are bigger than all other thumbnails. The problem here is, that those bigger images are not indexed. Why can that be?
In order to index your images, you should go with HTML tags of ALT Tag which help you to index website at the time of crawling.
I have alternative text on all images. I type directly in google search that text taken from image and it is not found.
This is relatively easy to do. First-- make sure that all of your images that need to be indexed (this should be done for all of your images anyway) have descriptive "alt" tags in your html code. If you're not familiar with this, here's a quick tutorial: An image is included on your web page (html file) with this basic code: <img src="h ttp://www.yoursitedomain. com/images/image. gif" alt="insert descriptive text here"> So the url in the above code is where your image is stored on the server. And the information in quotes after the alt= part of this example is where you should include a brief, relevant, and descriptive piece of text for each of your images. This will help describe the image to the search engines. The second step is to make sure that the pages on your site that contain these images (that you want to be indexed) are actually indexed. A simple way to do this is to participate in a forum on a site that is regularly crawled by the search engines and include your url (where the images are located) in the forum-- as long as your link is relevant to the content on the forum-- don't want to "sp@m" the site. That would not be professional.
I assume, you have properly used alt tags. I checked Google cache results, this page does show the last visited date by google. http://74.125.153.132/search?source...ww.greatvectors.com/2009/03/medical-caduceus/ this page does not show the last visited date by google, instead it shows for the home page. http://www.greatvectors.com/2009/11/christmas-decoration-2/ If you have recently made the pages, you must wait for some time before google indexes the pages and the images itself. Also, Build some links for your inner pages.
I also noticed that where is website that has link to one of my images, so its is older on my website. But its indexed on that new post on other website and i can find it via google image search, but not that one that is on my wbesite. Right here is my image on other website (Christmas Decoration)
