Hello everyone, Animal Pets and Friends is divided into two sections. Articles and a directory. I still have some work to do on the articles section so I am requesting that you evaluate the main page for the most part as well as the various parts of the article directory. I need honesty. Doesnt matter if you have negative or positive comments I will appreciate them all. Let me know what you think of the setup, navigation etc. Thank you in advance http://www.animalpetsandfriends.com
Main page: I'm not a fan of the green since you've got that no where else. Can you substitute another colour? Directory: On the main directory page, I feel that there needs to be a breaking up of the categories. Right now, I can see it's a table without borders, but it's not as readable as it could be. I'd also make the cell widths equal. In a main category (http://www.animalpetsandfriends.com/directory/11/General/): Increase the size of the "Animal Pets & Friends Directory" text, or get rid of it. I'm not quite sure what this adds (especially since this seems like a header, so it should be in your header). There's two sites listed, but I don't feel that there's enough of a distinction/break between them. Is there any way you can separate these out, perhaps with bullets/numbering, or with some divs?
Hello, Thanks for the comments I see what you mean about the green But, as I said, the directory section is far from completed. I am concentrating on the articles section right now. The reason being is that I want to develop the look and feel of the article section and then when it is done I will give the same to the directory section.
Ah, and I took "I'm still working on the articles" to mean you wanted us to look at the directory ... However, looking back at the site, the Articles link in the first sub-header on the main page points to the directory ... so maybe I did click on the right link
Yes, there is a link to the directory on the main page. The directory is active and accepting links, however, I have not completed the design and look of that section yet. I am working on getting the main section and the articles area "fixed" up. When I am happy with that then I will edit the directory section to look as much the same as possible so that way it looks like all one site and fits in well.
Let's try this again Go to http://www.animalpetsandfriends.com/ Click on "Animal Pets & Friends Articles", which is the second link to the left of the Search box. (Emphasis my own.) This links to http://www.animalpetsandfriends.com/directory/ , not the articles area. EDIT: Added emphasis.
AHA! So you found a big mistake on my part! When I was working on that header area the last time I placed the wrong link there! I am off to correct that right now.
i think ur website became tooo bright ...and it making me to close immediately..choose some cool colors like blues or light greens... like our DP he he
I like the idea of linking pet articles with a pet directory. The site looks professional, once it has some pr/traffic I will add my pet website to your directory.
Thanks to everyone for all of your comments. I appreciate you taking the time ot look at this site for me.
I opened your website before I read the comments and I like the colors. They play off nicely from the goldfish and balance well with your ad colors. There is so much content that you should hold vistors for a good while. I think it looks professionally designed and full of potential.
Thank you! The colors may be different now as they were when the abpve comments were made. I have been experimenting with changing the color scheme and layout. By the way everyone, I have gotten the directory section fairly well completed as far as the design and setup goes.
I just discovered that this site is listed as #1 on Google for the following search phrases animal pet article directory animal article directory pet article directory
I must be getting old, or maybe my eyes are just going bad, but a lot of sites I've seen today have been pretty hard on my eyes. The text color choices over the background color choices on this one were a bit painful for me. The right column is great and easy to read... but not crazy about the rest of it color-wise.
Thanks everyone for your comments. OK so it seems fairly unanimous that the color scheme is important. I have changed the colors and hopefully toned it down a bit.
Much better. My eyes thank you. ... in general it has a really nice "muted" natural kind of feel... except for that bright lime green at the top. That's all I'd still suggest changing.
