If they are your websites then it is. But if they are a clients website or whatever then its not.

    -
i submitted one of my website....
i have some suggestions about the log file:
is it possible to split log file?
just make one for success and second one for errors?
i am asking this because it's so time consuming to go trough the current log file to find out why it was an eror.... actually if i were u wouldn't worry about successful submissions, so u may want to show only errors log...

    thanks

The log file is being completely redone. It was originally a debugging tool made by Katherine to help her while she made the software. It wasnt meant for a log. But she threw that in there until she made one for now so people can see what they are submitting to.

... well the thread made me do it - so I signed up to test drive

    Here's my quick review:

    1. Taking my money from PayPal was quick and easy - good job there. Once payment proccessed I was in.
    2. Adding a new site was no problem, added a couple of title variations as well
    3. Definitely take the above mentioned advice of setting up either an mail forwarder or a new email account within the domain - you will get a lot of emails - 59 emails so far when submitting the info.
    4. Only concern is the when clicking the 'submit' button, the next page was blank (obviously the site info was being submitted). Crossing fingers here hoping page would not time out (it did not)
    - considering that this is a .php page, might want to look in to using the ob_flush() function to echo out to user that something is going on.
    5. Submission time: did not count, should have timed it, but would guess at 10-15 mins. More than enough time to check emails, earned commissions, play some chess, grab a coffee, etc.

Overall: Met expectations for it's purpose, pricing good, awaiting approval for final results.

    Cheers! :D

Well most directories dont even do emails for confirmation or a submission email. So even though you dont get the email they are still being submitted.

Thanks for the good review, Anton.

As an update, I was able to tweak the script a bit so it submits much faster now. I haven't timed it, but it's not taking 10-15 minutes like it was.

Thanks for the ob_flush() tip. I'll check that out and see if I can set up the script to print a status message while it's submitting.

Also, we just added some new directories to the list and cleaned out some that switched to paid or reciprocal. The list now includes 278 SEO-friendly directories, most of which are also on the Vile Silencer list.

PM me the site you submitted so I can check the link details you used. That is most commonly the problem. Also remember that log isnt accurate.

You can bounce the sites that failed off of the emails you recieved and you will notice that they actually didnt fail. The log was created for a troubleshooting tool while the site was being created. It really wasnt meant for a log like it is being used as right now until we get a better one in place.

since u did some changes, i can not check log file at all...
my browser just shots down when i try to see the log ...

plus, i don't think it's difficult to add one more IF operator to the code to log only error produced websites... it will help to reduce log file and find what was wrong during submittion...

so far i got only 10 emails of acceptance of one website... i was going to submit up to 35, but due this bugs i am not sure i can submit them all...

plus yesterday it took about 50 minutes to finish submission.. and it did not.. because i had to interrupt that...
