My website is already pr3 now, I don't think I spend enough time to build backlinks, but PR3 is showing at the google toolbar. I have another website and I spent double time on it, submitted it to directories. But that one just got PR2. So I got confuse, more backlinks create less PR value!?
Oh well, I also sometimes confused. Got a blog that I never update for two months, but could increase to PR 2. Age of my blog isalso only four months. Although I am confused, I am still happy with that pagerank. Thank you. http://topforexnetwork.com
Pagerank is usally based on quality backlinks. If you can bring couple good quality backlinks you can achieve it. one edu link will be enough to push your site
don't get bunch of back links with less quality and spammy sites, try to get just single quality BL and you can see the PR magic. Moral of the story is acquire high quality Back links and gain PR. Thanks!
That's true. The number of backlinks may not be as important as the quality of backlinks. Frequent updating and quality of content count as well.
Write quality content that will get noticed by the big dogs (PR5+) and then perhaps if you're lucky you'll get featured or a back link.
To increase PR, the easiest way is to get followed backlinks from websites with high PR. There are many ways of doing this: 1) as suggested, write good content that is link worthy. 2) submit to article directories such as Ezine, Goarticles, etc. I've written articles where the the articles itself had PR4-5. You can place a link back to your blog/site in the resource box. 3) link exchange with other sites. 4) buy the links (goggles says to not do this). 5) add your link in signatures of forums. 6) comment on blogs (with your link). 7) add your site to directories. 8) there are just TOO many ways...figure things out =)
it is not always necessary that backlinks bring Page Rank. I have old website and got 1 page rank without any backlinks.
High quality Back links gain PR higher.so make backlinks with good pagerank website or .edu and .gov website. You realise where is the issue occur.
This is impossible. Domain age has nothing to do with pagerank. Show me 1 site that has PR with 0 links.
PR depends on backlinks AND the PR of the page your link is places. 1 PR4 link, or 3 PR 3, or 100 PR 2, or 500 PR 1 gives your page a PR2 ... 1 Pr 10 link a PR 8 do the math, it's not the number of links but the number in combination with PR which does the "job".
It is about log 6. That is, to get PR2 you need 6 times more links of the same value than those to get PR1. PR3 requires 6 times more links than PR2 etc. This also means that a PR2 link is worth 6 times more, than a PR1 link. And 36 times less then PR4
