I really enjoy seeing someone teach others thier own success. It really is an amazing deed. If everyone would just share ideas , everyone will do equally as good.

This is interesting. Keep updating. I'll be reading and following your progress.

I'm very interested in your strategy for earning money from your blog. It seems that so far you're only thinking about selling banner ads?

Have you tried to monetize this at all yet? You could definitely start making something with the amount of visitors you're getting.

So far I haven't considered really monetizing my traffic, mostly because I am unsure of how I want to go about it. I am accepted to BuySellAds and I have been contemplating going through them, but I am wondering if a fixed monthly price for banners is the best way to go.

Well I am on DP here, if anybody has suggestions for how I should start marketing my blog post it up. I can always try something, share results and if they're bad try something else. That's the beauty of testing ;)

In the meantime why don't you just stick some adsense blocks up there until you figure out how you really want to monetize it for bigger money.

With 1k+ visitors daily you could definitely make something with adsense.

I wish you success and I will definitely be following this post. I agree with what meaghannf has said. You need to figure out a way to keep the bounce rate done. My company site has a 41.62% bounce rate and still couldn't generate any sales. So it's quite a thing to worry about. Good luck!

Latest news on the study: going well! I haven't made a new post on the blog in a while, just got a great new interview with Shay Howe who's a respected freelance web designer. I've already gotten a ton of retweets and diggs on the article, so I can't wait to see how much traffic I can gain by tomorrow. I'm also looking at much higher RSS feed subscribers, more Twitter followers... really everything increasing! I haven't checked my Google Analytics in a few days, I'm waiting so that I can see the course of traffic over a few days with fluctuations. Anyways I'll have better info for your guys tomorrow, but overall everything on the blog seems to be increasing and I can see my $100/day goal approaching within a month-2 months max!

I haven't forgotten about my study btw - I just wanted to update everyone and say Inside the Webb has been growing like a weed! Recently I have started working on adding tons and tons of new content - this is useful as it'll allow me to continue to bring in traffic through Search Engines, plus through social networking sites.

This is a huge step, and I should have some Google Analytic stats to prove it very soon. In the meantime I want to say I am running a few affiliate links on the site, hoping to generate a small amount of income that way for now. Once everything is set to build up backlinks and organic traffic, ITW is going to be one of the most popular blogs running!

You write that you are adding tons and tons of new content. Just wondering, are you writing everything yourself, or are you outsourcing some or even using plr?

It feels to me more like he's utilizing another way of advertising and improving traffic for his blog instead of teaching people.
What he's mentioned so far is only these:
    - Adding more content
    - Social Bookmarking
    - Showing stats and analytics
    - Social networking

What's more? It's like everyone knows about these..
He seems to be utilizing DP well to get 10% of his traffic from DP and hope this 10% that curiously following will help out in retweeting, digging or spreading the words out.
Do note that when he started, majority of his traffic was DP. Like 30-40+%.
Definitely he is doing things right and sharing his results but he is not sharing specific and detailed work done.
    Example:
    - explaining what type of blog posts and how to make new interesting blog posts?
    - which and how many social bookmarking or networking accounts does he have?
    - what are the exact advertising and promoting other than tweeting he has done for SEO?
    - how much is those banner sold currently?
    - how did he built and design the web? outsource? self code and edit?

Some of these questions might be quite confidential but that's what most people would like to know..
Making people simply following you by telling generally what you do and showing results doesn't really help..
Some more experienced people might be able to guess and analyze what he actually did but others don't..

Sorry to be kinda offensive in this reply, just sharing my opinion here.
Please don't tell me you had no intention on utilizing DP traffic, it's obvious.

All the work I've done on the site is completely myself, no outsourcing done. I'm considering it in the future, but for right now I'm not worrying about it. As for what to consider, I'm considering many social networking and media outlets that will prove successful if I can continue on.

YEAH! Shame on him for trying to use forums for traffic generation!

I think his post is more useful than the majority of the crap I see posted here on some days.

Although I am still wondering how your traffic is converting.

Are you making any money from it yet? How much per day?

Are you building an opt in list?

Search engine traffic and social traffic isnt worth squat if you arent making any money off it/capturing the traffic...

Well right now my goal isn't money, it's traffic. See with marketing, I've learned that if you don't have a market to target with ads and affiliate sales, where's the money to make? So right now I'm completely focusing on writing great articles, marketing them through social networking/bookmarking to draw in relative and interested visitors, and from there I'm hoping to building up my PR/Alexa rank and gain some sponsors in the site. Selling 125x125 ads or 300x225 or something... Overall my main goal right now is traffic, within a month or two once I have a lot of posts and content indexed and drawing in traffic, that's when I'm really interested with advertising and making my $100/day goal.

    EDIT:
Also I do draw in traffic from DP, but is it a bad thing? I truly appreciate all of the love and support for my project, and I feel like my business plan for the blog is perfect. I just need time to implement my tactics and see where I can make this site go.

Cool man I think you make good money with it because you seem dedicated to your writing and posting.

No doubt with a little bit of time you will be getting paid.

You should consider pushing for an opt in or something so you can keep bringing those interested people back. RSS feeds are good and all, but the more ways you have to contact them the better.

How many visits per day do you get on average?

My autoblog site is set up 1-2 months ago and I set and forget about it.
Now it has more than 15k articles without doing anything and having 10+ uniques per day, 30-40 page views per day.
With only Adsense integrated, I'm actually getting close to $1 a day for a set and forget blog.
I'm not very sure how stable this can be now but it seems to be growing.
I may be creating a few more of these set and forget autoblogs to multiply the effect.

I do agree in your methods of doing, the real legit way I should say.
Requires more attention, time and effort on 1 specific blog. It's a good idea and you're doing good.
My point here is, rather than making a thread here trying to pull traffic by updating daily, make some useful and helpful guides.
Post things that people really wants to know here, like those me and dbbrock1 asked.

Your traffic is high but look at your Bounce Rate 80.32%, 81.81% new visits, Average time on site is 1.13, 5, 793 visits in one month but they stayed on the site for a minute and they dont go beyond the landing page.

Getting traffic is ease, getting meaningful and targeted traffic is the hard part...

Your Bounce Rate of 80.32% telling me your visitor don't go beyond the landing page, they land then they leave, 81% new visit telling me not much visitor returning, time on site is 1.13 minute not much can be do in this short time.

Other than lots of visits, your result telling me your visitor are not staying on your site which is the ultimate goal for anyone with a blog.

The way I'm reading these result could be wrong, I'm here to learn. I would consider a good Bounce rate for a blog should be below 60%, New visitor below 60% and average time on a blog should be above 5 minutes meaning the average person spend 5 minutes or more reading stuff on your blog...

Below is a screen shot of my website visits month to date, not the best but its growing a little...

My bounce race is %53.68, I'm trying to get in the low %40,
Average time on site is 5.25 I like this....
My new visit is %70.18, I need this number to get lower.
Average page visit is 3.62 I need this number higher.

traffic from stumble are not meaningful to me, I tried it a few time and I will get a 300 visits in five minutes then they gone and never to return...

You are right...100%. What I have notice over the years with these money making blog is that they will give you a brand new BMW a brand new Car But kept the keys to the car and the house...

They will give you the key but when you try starting the car you found out no engine, they will give you the key for the house but you found out someone else owned the house or there no water or light.

The information received can be useful but most of the time its just info you have to build on...

We not going to find the Holey Grail on DP but we can find useful info we can build on...

    hmm my suggestion is.
1st = register for adsense account
2nd = post the code in your site
    3rd = buy 85 visitors per day :p

my friend got around 4000-5000 per months :p
