Getting website traffic from newspaper advertising

Who advertise in newspapers and did it help drive traffic to your site? Also what type of business did you advertise? Which newspapers do you recommend?

I posted my payday loan site peachtreecredit.com in a couple of newspapers, I'm still waiting to see if I will make my money back. So far I've made half my money back. I posted in the LA weekly and Memphis Flyer.

Good job. I try to say away from newspaper ads even though they are pretty cheap nowadays. How much was the ad?

In general people just don't remember domains mentioned in newspapers, unless the ad is really attractive.

I don't either but if it's something I really need I save the ad and check it when I'm near a computer.

I have never tried marketing with news papers for websites before but my only bother is that users' would not be able to click on the 'newspaper'. The beauty of internet marketing is that users can go directly to your website in a few short clicks, and with advertising in the news paper the customer really has to like your product to remember to go online and look at it in their spare time.

I am aware that one popular U.S. newspaper charges £130,000 ($213,000) for a full-page ad.

The weekly Nuts Mag (popular here in the UK) is £10.000 ($16,000) for a full-page ad.

Silly I know lol! I am sure that you could probably find a regional paper that would do the most basic-of-basic ads for around £50 or so for a line of text. For an approved payday loan lead you could earn around £40 so I do think local newspapers could be worth looking at (finance related anyway).

If you have the money for it then you can test newspaper ads out

but me I never bother advertising in the paper. I can get a better

and more targeted response doing newsletter advertising like solo ads etc

    Plus its a lot cheaper

$121 sounds like a pretty good deal. I'm not sure if you're niche is the best for newspaper advertising though. I'm thinking about marketing a "work from home" cpa offer in the newspaper soon.
