Does Google know which site first had the content?

    Hi All,

I'm about to spend some good money on content and was wondering if Google knows which site it appears on first.

If someone comes along and copies everything the following day hows Google to know who had the unique content first?

    Thanks!

Yes, if google indexed both sites, then you can tell which one was first by looking at the 'cached date'

but suppose the original content owner has low PR then his site will index later and the copied site has PR , google will index that site soon .. in this case what can we do ?

No idea, but take your time and make some solid research before spening a cent.

Not a matter, if the copied web site ranked above you, just alert Google and they'll ban them. (you may need more proofs and time..)

I have had some concerns with this as an active blogger and EzineArticles contributor. This post is really just related to those who allow their articles to be republished. If I want to publish the article on my own blog first, as I usually do, then I make sure it is published for at least one week before I submit it to EzineArticles for inclusion in their directory of articles. One week is adequate for my blogs, but maybe yours is indexed sooner or later. You can always look up your article in Google to be sure its indexed before you submit it to be published anywhere else.

I don't think Google know about that. They just crawl the content and put the most SEO article on first SERP

Pretty simple Google determines this by post time

Its obvious that the person who copied the original content
was only able to do so once the original content was published .

Tough SERP may fluctuate initially due to PR value but the original
content will finally find its right position in the results.

This is how i think the system works ,I'm not sure whether I'm correct or not .

Treat your writing time as an "appointment" with yourself and focus solely on that.

Google has no ability to know.. Google is a search engine.. Yet by your search for dates, you could be able to do it..
Google is strictly a search engine. It finds things on the internet and posts them. It doesn't not regard date of posts or anything of the such. The first hits are the most visited websites.

Good luck and have a great day .. .

low PR or no PR? if a site has PR then it's indexed.

the simple answer to your question is that whoever got indexed first will most likely "win".

The best way to protect your content is to attach bio information at the end with the date written then publish it. If someone deletes that information to try to take ownership, you have valid credentials to assume ownership.
