If you try to build 100 links a week to your website, what percentage of that is divided by commenting on blogs, forums, link exchange, social media, writing articles, etc?
I don't think anyone here builds links by blog commenting... Rss: probably 400% Forums: 5%? Depends if I want to get indexed quickly or just building content. Link Exchange: 0% Social Media: 7% Writing Articles: 10% Umm that's pretty much it..
can you please post the journal link to where these stats are? 0% use link exchanges? Why are they used in masses daily? yea, sounds like 0% hehe... thats the problem these days, people dont think.
lol what ??? Not only do people build links with commenting and link exchanges, but your numbers are so out of whack its not even funny.
wow hello where have you been for the past 5 years? Commenting is one of the best ways of link building. Using forums alone doesn't get you indexed any sooner than blog commenting or any other method will do. There is a mixture of things you do to promote your site. Bookmarking Article marketing Blog commenting Foruming Link Dirs Seo Link Wheels The list goes on. If you're a serious marketer anyway. It's a continual process really as the internet changes every day. But you should do a little bit of all of them to make your mark on the net and get the search engines crawling you all the time you need more content and then do the above over and over.
I'm sorry but this thread is just plain funny...nonetheless, I'll submit my 2 cents. Personally, I would say the link building techniques will vary depending on the type of site your trying to develop, target market, and your business strategy. For instance, if I'm promoting an e-commerce site I will focus on link building via link exchanges, articles, product reviews via youtube and other channels, and blog/forum commenting. On the other hand, if I'm working on links for a more viral site offering funny videos or entertainment then I would use a different link building strategy. For instance, I would instead focus predominantly on social bookmarking sites and link baiting techniques. However, whatever the site is content will always remain the number one factor that should be focused on. Solid content will make your site more worth linking to and can assist in natural link building by serving as link bait.
I don't think the op is expecting to receive exact statistics (I assume he knows their estimates)....more or less just a general idea of where you focus most of your link building efforts, why, and how effective its been.
I use to focus on blogs when I was trying to dominate local cities. That alone worked great. Now I have a national site and I'm trying different methods. Blogs are still a major part of my process. Also getting links from PR5 and above. I do have an estimate of where I get my links from. The thread was just to get an idea of other's.
For my self it would be: Weekly 10 Directory submissions Daily i write on 3 forums ( my favorate forum including DP) Blog posting, 2wise a week Cheers Josh
