    Hi,
Unfortunately I registered my domain name for my SEO services http://www.globalsweb.com about one month ago and currently designing it but really I didn't know that this is a very old name.

    Here's what I found about globalsweb.com:

    * 3 registrars have maintained records for this domain since 04-09-2001 with 2 drops.
    * This domain has changed name servers 10 times over 3 years.
    * Hosted on 10 IP addresses over 5 years.
    * View 7 ownership records archived since 2001-04-09.

Can you please advise me it is good or bad.

I really don't know about these points so Please share your opinion about this domain here...

    Best Regards

Umm, forgive me for being a little critical. But if you are setting up a SEO company it would be hoped that you have at least a vague idea of how to optimise this already?

I agree, your post for an seo company looks a little bad. In either case, none of those factors are going to affect the way you rank the site if it done correctly. You might want to hire a new team though, as it seems the ones you have now don't know much.

domain history is not a major factor except of its age. Since you seem to have age i would worry.

However, do you know what was the content on this domain and if it could be currently penalise by google and others ?

An aged domain name is considered a good thing. It doesn't make a whole lot of difference but can be crucial if you're going to do a lot of link building (read: link spamming) as Google is less likely to sandbox old and established domains compared to new ones.

Note, however, that the above is true only if the domain has been in Google's index the whole time. If a domain is not indexed by Google then it can be 15 years old and still has the same value as a 2 days old domain.

It doesn't really matter, the older the domain the better IMO.

Here is some of the history then >

    http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://globalsweb.com/

Now you DO KNOW some previous content!

And who knows - you may be very lucky and pick up a ton of useful backlinks from someone elses efforts or alternatively you may have picked up a dud that needs a lot of repairing - let us know which? - it's a chance you take!

If the website was not banned by any of the Search Engines in the past, then I don't think there should be any problem going ahead with it.
