I buidling my links for my six months old site, about 2 backlinks daily, from do-follow blogs. Yesterday was update SERP's, I am now in 8 page :/ I was in 2nd position, why?
Well, this affected lots of people who were ranking on good positions. i was on 1st page 8th position for a very competitive keyword and now i am ranking on 3rd page. It was a sad moment for me but i have again started working on it seen some changes in my results.
could be just google dance and in few days your ranking may come back to where it was before. or it could be that your ranking just went down. i c you are using blog commenting for link building which is fine but using one single method of link building is a bit risky and don't produce good result for long term. you should diversify your link building campaign and utilize various methods. you will get more backlinks and your link building campaign wil look lot more natural
How often do you update your site? Is it a content site or blog? Give us more information, then we can give a better answer.
How was "yesterday was update SERPS" ? This is 2010 not 1998 Sir! Google's search results can change in half an hour or less these days. Wanna watch Googlebot Yahoo Slurp MSN/Bing Bot Ask etc moving about? If so take a look at this > http://tvworlds.com/forum/online.php I could sit there all day watching spiders moving about in near real time if I felt inclined and I once had over 50 annoying Yahoo Slurp Spiders burning up bandwidth online all at the same time. What is your search term and what did you do prior to the problem and has the problem persisted or we're you just panicking over a temporary change and over nothing?
Just to add, the search engines dont just base rankings on backlinks, as we all should know by now there is a whole algorythm that determines where someone will rank. This can be based on keywords, traffic, backlinks, time that a user spends on site, and bounce rate. If you have dropped down the rankings, you would need to make sure first and foremost that your site is using the right format. Content site, ro blog, etc. You would also need to work on content that keeps visitors on site, and basically has great information on every single page. If you fill all of that, then search engine results come naturally.
I am so glad I am not the only person around here making sense and who is aware linking is not the be all and all metric Google and other SE's use!
this is happen to me too, i dont know what happen, but my others competitor still on 1st page im out of 30th page
It happens - I've had my blog rank for my name and all of a sudden it dropped a few pages back, but a few days later it came back.
