Hi guys! This is my first post here. I learned a little about web, so I want to start some kind of my own business. Something small for a start. I learned few things about web design, CMS, SEO etc., so I wanted to start my own blog with Adsense. Since I'm not good writer and english is not my native language, I was thinking about buying maybe 20 articles for a start and set up a niche blog. Than I would advertise it, work on SEO etc. Is this a good idea? Does it have future? I'm ready to invest some money and a lot of time in this. Is wordpress good thing for this? I need to choose a niche, how can I chose the best one for adsense and SEO? How much this could cost, hosting, domain and articles? Any advice is helpful. Thanks! Clash
Ok you are asking great questions first costs: you can get set up with hosting for about $50 for a year. I recommend using host gator.com or hostmonster.com domains usually cost $9 at name cheap or godaddy.com you can get cheap quality articles written for you over at textbroker.com and yes Wordpress is great for SEO make sure to use the all in one seo plugin after you install wordpress. when it comes to making money with adsense the best niches are ones based on a product. a great place to start keyword research is with the ebay keyword tool. use Google adwords keyword tool and look for keywords that have a CPC or Cost per click above a dollar. Then test that keyword for competition. Look for anything less then 50,000 when you search Google in quotes with your keywords. Last see if you can grab it as a domain over at namecheap or godaddy. Then SEO you site for the search engines. If you would like a more step by step guide on how to make money with adsense read john or xfactors posts over at the warrior forum on how to make 100-300 dollars a day with adsense. Hope all this was helpful and made sense. Joker23
Agreed. That said, why someone would want to chase pennies on AdSense is beyond me. I read this on DP and other forums all the time. People working for pennies and putting in literally HOURS or work for those couple of nickels. Absolutely IN-SANE to me. If you really are a newbie and looking to get started online making real money and getting some ROI on not just your cash, but on your time (something few take into account) then you want to do something simple like a CLIP STORE. To start, you do not need a host or processing. They do that for you, taking a percentage of each sale. They also generate traffic to their site for you. So initially you just have to know how to manipulate your clips and store to get the best advantage to convert sales. After some time on the learning curve, you can expand into other sites, blogs, and so on. Maximizing your content and revenues. This is by far the best return for your money and time in the online game. Good luck on your adsense blog.
Wow! I think you are setting yourself up for a very hard road. That niche blog would have to be on a topic that was popular a given to drive traffic with people who are looking to buyand likely to click on ads. You might be better served to to the same thing but look for a different way to monetize your traffic, such as using a program like Have Ads and serving up some affiliate products for better ROI.....
Thanks a lot for the great advices, Joker23! I have a few more questions: I saw a great prices for domains and hosting at goddady.com, can I host more domains if i buy one hosting? Because I don't need that much space for one blog. Can I trust those people on textbroker.com? Are their articles really unique, since they are really cheap? Thanks again! Clash
Hey Clash, If you've got some money to invest, why not just buy an existing website or blog that's already generating traffic and revenue? Look for one that also includes the domain name and a year's worth of hosting. If I were starting over again, that's what I'd do. To heck with building everything from scratch. JMHO, Tamara
Thanks, but I don't have enough experience in the field to do that. I still wander how much could something like that cost? How can I know site's worth for sure, and how to estimate it's income in the future. Where can I find such sites for sale? And I still need answers on my questions from the previous post. Thank you! Clash
Hi, clash, From a Good , Genuine , successful Online Mentor , you will learn a lot, and find all the answers through the learning process.
Hey Clash my pleasure to help you out! you don't want to use godaddy.com for hosting only use them for buying your domains. try to get a domain in a .net .org or .com and yes you can trust the people over at textbroker.com I have used them and have been about 90% satisfied Good turnaround time, cheap prices quality work. I recommend using a category 2 writer or higher.Be specific about what you want when you order. Here is a sample order description you can use you will see it below in bold: Please write about [PLH]. Do not write from the first person. Include paragraphs. Include: - What [PLH] is/are - The benefits of [PLH] - Who would need [PLH] - Why someone would want [PLH] - When someone would want/need [PLH] Include the term “[PLH]†twice in your article, once in the first paragraph, and once again in the last paragraph. You may include variations on the phrase [PLH] throughout the remainder of your article. Write as though trying to convince someone to purchase [PLH]. The text may not, in whole or in part, be copied or transcribed from any other source. It must be 100% original and unique. You will see PLH above basically PLH means is when you order many articles at the same time PLH stands in for each of the articles titles so you don't have to rewrite the description for each article. Hope that was helpful and made sense and remember that the best way to learn is to take action Cheers Joker23
Thanks Joker23! I see that you are speaking honestly and you are not trying to sell me something. You're right about learning from the proces, I'm buying hosting and domain very soon. I just need to decide about my first niche, than all will be easier.
I would say don't buy GD hosting coz its no good better buy from other company which is much more cheaper than GD. The amount of site you can host is depend on the addons domain of the hosting you buy. I can help you chose cheaper hosting lemme know.
Joker23, when you talked about choosing the right niche you said: Look for anything less then 50,000 when you search Google in quotes with your keywords. What does it mean "in quotes", my english is not very good. And it looks impossible to find anything under 500 000 results. Did you maybe make a mistake when you said 50,000? I'll keep searching anyway! Thanks! Clash
Hey Clash my pleasure to help you out again.Honest is my middle name. You want to search for your keyword in quotes as a way of testing it for competition if you are trying to rank in the search engines naturally and are not going to pay for your traffic with Pay per click then you need to aim for something under 100,000 competing pages. Lets say you were in the dog training niche here is an example keyword you could use: dog training books You will see when you search for this keyword in Google without quotes like this: dog training books google returns 25 million results. Way too competitive! But when you search for it like this: "dog training books" with quotes Google shows only 60,000 search results much better! This is a way of analyzing you competition in Google and getting an Idea of how hard or long it will take you to rank naturally in the Search engines. So in the future whenever you find a keyword using Google adwords keyword tool you want to make sure to test it first like this before grabbing the domain. as stated before a good number to aim for is less then 50,000 if you are a noobie. If you can't find one with less then 50,000 then aim for less then 100,000. hope this helps you out and made sense Cheers Joker23
Hi Clash, The cost for an existing site can be anywhere from around $20 on up. It probably won't include hosting for $20. People sell websites here on DP, as well as on a couple other big IM forums and other places. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links the other places because I think I saw a rule about not promoting other IM forums here and I don't want to get in trouble, but do a google search for "websites for sale." There's no way to "know for sure" that a site is profitable, but if the seller is honest, they will provide you with documentation of income generated by the site and other stats such as page rank, how many pages are indexed in the SEs and where, how many unique visitors the site gets per month, etc. There are also way of determining if the content on the site is unique by using Copyscape. On most of the places where people sell websites you can research to see how much people have paid for websites in the past. It may be worth taking an hour to look at what type of websites are available for sale, which ones seem to be profitable and which ones people are buying. At the very least, you can use that information to figure out what kind of site you want and what the hot niches seem to be. HTH, Tamara PS - And, no, I don't sell websites, so I'm not trying to sell you anything. ...
Thank you, this all is very helpful to me! CarolinaGirl, sorry for thinking that you're trying to sell me site. I was wrong, I just see a lot tings like that on internet. For now I don't have a lot of money, but I can manage for hosting, domain and few articles. I can't buy site to myself right now. I started to think of moving online when my company started falling apart. And it looks that I'll find the way to pull this trough. There is no better business than this, with more options and more freedom. It's very important to me to have freedom to work when I want, how ever I want. And logicaly-the more I work-more I earn. In the company I make huge profit and still work for peanuts. Clash
