    Hello

OK so I have been learning as I go when it comes to SEO but I am in a little bit of a mess at the moment and need my blog sorting out.

I had a website which was kaplang.com and then I had my blog kaplang.com/blog

but then I decided to lose the website and just focus on the blog because I was enjoying it more than anything else, I really do love blogging.

So I redirected kaplang.com to kaplang.com/blog and now I am thinking it was a mistake. My blogs pagerank is now on my old website url, so my blog shows as unranked. I have noticed that I have pages in the search engines with wrong descriptions and all sorts. When I want my blog to show up, it just shows the site address instead of the blog address...OK so this is not so bad coz it redirects to the blog any way but its showing the sites description too, instead of the blog description.

So I was thinking about moving everything over to kaplang.com and keep it simple, but then will people keep hitting no longer found pages if I move my whole blog on to my website address??

If I was to hire someone to do some SEO on this blog, what would you suggest I need to have done?

Sorry am I making any sense?

Please help if you can :)

    Sort of!

What is the state of your 404 error pges?

The SE's can take a bit of time to update. I have some descriptions and links title typos that are still showing up 2 months after spotting them and correcting the spelling mistake.

There are always plenty of ways to sort things but your post is a little confusing tbh.

I see you are in sunny Yorkshire. I am a little south of you in sunny Lincoln so not all that far from you. Pick any London Borough and the acronym SEO (like Kensington SE0 - change 0 for o - for example) and Google it and click the first link you come across. In the contact links on the site you find you will come across my forum where I can give you some free advice.

I would also be willing to swap you some proper SEO for some design. I also have some sites related to design I may be able to pass design work your way from, got a porfolio?

if you do a 301 redireection, then your page PR should not be affected. you should keep your blog's existing PR and one the top of it, if you had any PR form the main page, that should be transferred over by next update. i say dont worry too much on PR for now, leave things the way it is, and just promote your blog. PR is a very small factor in search engine ranking, if at all and it doesn;t give you any direct traffic so why bother?

    Well said Sir!

I have zero PR sites with masses of page 1 SERPS merely from on site SEO and figure I will get very few and far between visitors from some link amongst many others on some other site "especially directories", so as you say why bother.

Pity others can't see this to though!

301 and 404 which are all that should really be used seem to be the immediate answer here for you Michelle!

Seo is mostly related or SEF. You should check organisation of your web site too. You should keep your web site s content accesible for bots.

redirect it to your new blog. that should work.
to page rank, just build backlinks again for it.
