I guess we all would like to get things and achieve stuff very quickly. The mindset of people today is a bit different then it was decades ago I feel. Everyone wants results NOW and get rich with very little effort. But when it comes to starting and running a business then patience is extremely important and nothing happens overnight. Most people have no idea where to start or what to do first. Should you create your own product like an e-book or a video course about a niche you know very well? Become an affiliate marketer? Earn money with surveys? Become a freelance writer? When you want to see results very quickly then you need to have most of such questions answered. For example when you decide to start with affiliate marketing, then you should also know how to find a profitable niche, find a great product to market, how makreting in the internet works, how to generate traffic, how to build a website etc. These are just the main issues that come to mind. When you can not answer these questions then you can forget about quick results. Most likely you will spend most of you time scratching your head and biting your nails then jumping in the air with satisfaction. When you know somebody who has a successful online business or any home business then go and ask for advice. It most likely took them a long time before they started making profits. Even if you have a lot of free time on your hands and are extremely motivated to succeed then it still may take you 6 months to a year to earn $100 a day. The best thing you can do is take one step at a time and think everything through. Otherwise you will either make a big mistake or burn yourself out very quickly.
First thing you should do is sketch a business plan and strategy, then you need to constantly re-analyze your current position and successes and failures.
Having patience is really necessary in these economic times. I have to remind myself everyday to be patient, and keep marketing a little each day. I have a new website (started 2 months ago). I did a big email campaign to start things. That resulted in thousands in traffic. I got excited thinking I would get some orders right away. NOPE. I then started running ads in Craigslist and in any free classifieds. That got more traffic. One order resulted from that. I then wrote articles. More traffic. No orders. I revised my prices, added new products, put some really good deals on the website. I re-run the email campaign of 15,000 targetted people. Result is more traffic, No new orders. I paid for Traffic. No orders. I paid for submission service to directories. Lots of traffic coming, No orders. I put my website name everywhere I can possibly put it. Put stuff on Facebook. No orders. I join a bunch of yahoogroups, put my website on some good comments. More traffic, No orders. I ask for some feedback and opinions of my website. A few people email me and tell me they like it. I am now over 50,000 in traffic to my site in 2 months, with only 1 order. It is very frustrating. I had another website that is 10 years old that is very similiar that does pretty well (lost that in a divorce). I will continue to do the same marketing plan, as it gets the traffic. I plan on going to specialized shows as a vendor. I do have 2 potential customers that emailed me that may want big orders. If one of them were to place the kind of order they said they want I will be elated. Any suggestions?
Sit down and write a good business plan. Figure out where you will get traffic from first. That is the key.
Definitely having a good business plan is wise, but another thing that most newbie marketers suffer with is taking ACTION. They go out an buy all the courses an learn quite a bit, but lack of action is also a reason why most do not succeed online.
It took me 6 months full time before I started making money online. That's July - December.... I didn't have a proper plan so that's probably why. Article marketing didn't work for me, it took me 5 months realise that...
What and Who are you Targeting ? As you can see you can get traffic all day long, but if it's not targeted it's no good.
Patience is very important to succeeding in making money online. Also never giving up and learning from your past mistakes.
I think patience is one of the key things that will determine how successful anyone is with internet marketing. Yes we all want money right now. Sometimes I think it has to do with the infomercials we see. We all don't want to be scammed, but those ads both on TV and online make it seem so easy to just get on the computer and start generating cash. In the beginning I was sure that internet marketing didn't work because I thought if you built a website and slap ads up, people would automatically click on them. Luckily, I found the right tools I needed to help me learn and I put them to use.
The fastest way to success is being consistent and determined on your GOAL. Whoever that doesn't have a goal will not succeed because they are like a ship set sail without a destination.
Patience and focus can make you success any field in life. Especially, in this Online Business ! I do agree with all the great comments of this thread !
Patience is a key factor but how about looking for a more direct path to your sales orders. You need to be asking the traffic that you are getting to your sites questions. Poll them to find out what they are really looking for and give that to them. Set up a survey for a prize or anything to get some feedback. Don't just wait for them......
i think may b you should learn more about increasing conversion. some people with little traffic can convert better like what The Lazy marketer share. mayb what u need is quality traffic and a buyer list. good luck
Patience and perseverance are the key to success when you are starting any business including an online business.
