How Do I Get My Sub-Pages Indexed In the Google SEPS?

Over a month ago we deployed a new website called Jumpness www.jumpness.com.

We created accounts for Google webmaster tools, Bing Webmaster Live, Yahoo Site Explorer, and then submitted sitemaps, uploaded robots.txt and created header tags with meta tags info for all the pages, but it seems like we cannot get Google to index any of the sub-pages. The homepage gets indexed just fine, but pages like this are not getting indexed, can anyone shed some light on the reason why?

Because the only way to get to your subpages is by searching for it on your homepage.

Solution? Make a HTML sitemap so Google can crawl that and find your subpages there.

Build some backlinks for these subpages. Work on your internal link structure as well.

I have found just writing an article and posting it the various article submission sites gets that page in Google pretty fast. Although with some of the directories you have to wait for your article to be approved. I have found that if you homepage gets indexed often your interior pages will naturally as well.

give your website more internal backlink(s). internal backlink(s) is a link from a word or phrase that point to somepage in your website. it will help google to crawl your new subpage(s) beside from sitemap

I just deployed a vendor sitemap that will help googlebot find the pages not being indexed. What do you think of this? I think it will help allot! Thanks for your ideas.

As others have stated you're going to want to create an XML sitemap and upload it to your site and then add it to Google webmaster tools. In addition, create an HTML sitemap on your website that shows all of the pages in your site and link to it from the homepage in the footer. You may also want to consider linking directly to internal pages that you consider important that have not already been indexed by Google. Another thing you might want to think about is adding a rel="nofollow" tag to pages that are not important like your privacy policy or terms of service. This will cause your other pages to rank better and Google will place more emphasis on the other links that are do follow.

    Some other quick tips:

    1.
Consider adding more content to subpages and rank them as "landing pages", in which customers will find the subpages first before the homepage. Therefor, if a customer searches for rent inflatables in detroit, the page for detroit rentals shows up instead of the homepage. This will also increase your conversion and customer retention and reduce the bounce rate by reducing visitor frustration and the number of pages visited in attempting to rent.

    2. Add more textual links in your footer to various areas of your website, in addition to the drop down menus and images to link to everything. Consider using this technique for geographic areas broken down by state, for instance. Pages browsed via drop down menu links don't index well such as the one you have under "search for inflatable".

    3. In the footer area of subpages you may want to consider linking the page to itself using the keyword your trying to rank for. This has nothing to do with getting it indexed, but will assist with ranking the page. For instance, on the Milford, MI rental page why not put in the footer something like "You are currently viewing rentals available in Milford Michigan. " This will serve two purposes: give you anchor text for your keyword, and give you on-page content utilizing your keyword. In addition, you could have a list of surrounding areas to rent from and link to those pages which would assist in getting those pages indexed. This may also assist in removing you from the supplemental listings by increasing the relative importance of your pages.

    Keep in mind:
The age of the site, # of backlinks, and # of pages all dramatically affect the indexing of subpages. Your site is only a month or two old, has less then 100 inlinks according to Yahoo explorer, and has 1,000's of pages (as far as I can tell). Therefore, it may require quite a bit of time and effort to get this site to the point that all the pages are indexed.

Thanks for the great feedback! I'll look into making the footer changes. Some of those points are already in place like my XML sitemap www.jumpness.com/sitemap.xml

Create XML site of your website and submit it to all the webmaster of major search engine, so that your all website will have crawled by short period of timing.

After this step, Go through Plan of Link Building for entire Web Pages and make Submission of all website pages one by one and promote it strongly.

Now after this all step, check out entire website status.
