    Hey,

I was thinking about starting a forum so that people could hire and buy services from other freelancers. I thought i could have regular discussion about all webmaster talk too. So in a way it would be a lot like this forum but a better marketplace. I would have something similar to Itrader. What do you guys think? Would you use this kind of forum?

yeah i would use it but the only problem is it that it has been done numerous times, so the only way to effectively be successful with this venture is do it better then the competition

Yeah i thought about that. I would put a ton of work into it and mod it how i want. Also i would advertise and have a opening day for it. So it is huge on the first day.

i love the idea personally, but without substantial monetary backing it will be tough to really get the push you need.

I personally like O-Desk ive used them before, the only downfall was that alot of people on there are from overseas to the time difference is a killer.

if you could figure out a way to incorporate cloud computing it would hold a very large benefit so the customer can work one on one with the employee

like i said i really like the idea!!

you would probably need a team of people with resumes or bio's available for launch, just to make it more entycing to the visitors

    Thanks,

I would start a project like this but the only thing i wouldn't be able to to is create a mod for the Itrader part. Other than that, i could sucessfully build it. And the marketing and advertising, i could do very easily. I am great with that. But i would probably have to look for a partner.

well no need to reinvent the wheel, i would take the existing itrader script and modify it for your setup,

if you have clean code, then the application should be fairly simple

I will join for sure as long as the forum is active and have quality freelancer offering service.
But make sure that there is no scamming case coz it will drive off potential client

Forum is not good idea to do the working of freelancing site. Its like going for a long drive on a 40 ton truckload. Moreover scam is a big issue. Even the secured sites like gaf, sl have problem with this issue. Many employers never turn up after getting the work. Start with new usernames. How this can be stopped from forum?

Just make "Freelance applications" and have them reviewed and tested before they are allowed to be a part of teh community
