You only need 1 meta description, having to many looks a little spammy.

Google do NOT take meta keywords into consideration while listing for SERP.

They don't take the meta description into account either - it's good to have a relevant one to induce searchers to click on the listing - but it makes no difference to your position in serps. And having more than is redundant - only one will be shown!

Put your keywords in your urls, page titles, and anchor texts.

Forget the keyword meta tag and use your description tag for it's proper purpose

I agree with the statements above that basically say: Be genuine with your descriptions and Google will find a way to reward you.

Google ignores meta keywords and meta description elements when they rank URLs for particular keyword phrases. However, optimizing meta descriptions IS very important since they are sometimes shown as the Google search snippet.

There should only be 1 meta keywords and 1 meta desciption element per page.

Adding to what is stated, description is displayed on the search engine results page. If it is impressive/attractive only then visitors will click on the link of your website and come to your website.

I think one unique meta description per page would be better.

I would stick with trying to give a genuine description to the page in meta description...too many will just be spamming
