Importance of page PR for SEO

A link exchange partner -the domain has PR5- offers me the choice between a backlink from 2 different pages in his site. The first is from a page with PR2 exactly in my niche and no outbound links on it. The other choice is from a general page, so not in my niche, with PR4 with 27 backlinks already on it.

    What's my best choice?

related page is the best choice. too many outgoing links dilute your backlink credit.

It would be lovely if you can get high pr with up to 5 outbound links in your niche.

Don;t waste time with pr plus what is PR 0 now can be PR 5 in the future and viceversa ...

    PR doesn't mean SEO

Go for relevant content. I wouldn't care for 0 PR if I can rank 1st place in google.

    BINGO!!!!

I have masses of page 1 SERPS yet I do no linking what so ever! If it happens it happens but I have better things to do. Yet one of my sites miraculously has a PR4. How or why I have never bothered to look to find out!

Relevancy sounds healthy than page rank.

Definitely: relevance will bring you not only SEO but also good traffic (and that is what matters).

The PR reflects the SEO .. not the opposite ..
The PR will increase if you set up a good link building campaign ..
