what is onpage SEO and Meta tag?

    i am new here. I want know about the Onpage SEO and Meta tag. Please tell me about the Onpage SEO and meta tags in simple word.

    LOL i must have been doing this for a long time cause ive never heard the phrase On-Page,

    in simple terms, set up a hierarchy for the site..

    IE important terms have the H1 tag, and sub terms have <h3> etc... and so on and so on,

    chances are if you code your site in a way that it will make sense to anyone, it will make sense to the search engines

    On page seo refers to optimising your content and various html functions so you tell search engines what your page is about.

    Basically SEO is divided into two parts:-
    1) Onpage Optimization
    2) OffPage Optimization

    OnPage Optimization means whatever you make changes on webpage will be reelected to website.There are many factors for onpage optimization as mentioned below:-
    1) Meta Tags like Title, Description, Keywords
    2) Image Optimization
    3) Header Tags
    4) Anchor Tags
    5) Content Optimization and so on..

    duh!! Offpage Optimization is everything that has nothing to do with onpage. Where we dont have to make changes on our site i.e adding links or articles or posts. tweeting, one way linking and all these are offpage optimization

    Off page optimization is building back links to your website... The main thing is you should get it from High PR websites...
    Mainly,
    Article Submission
    Press release
    Bookmarking
    Social networking
    Forums
    Bloggings
    etc... If you have any...

    yup.. on page, meaning the focus here are the elements within the website. while the off page will be dealing all the factors outside the website.
