I would go for 100 PR1 links if they are all relevant to my niche. Relevancy to your site is pretty much what is all about. A non relevant PR6 link would do you much good except gain some PR. PR is nothing when it comes to SEO.
I like 100 than 1, because 100 is greater than 1 because like camay said, and 100 links maybe marketed easier & wider
A link from someone that comes naturally through merit irrelevant of the other pages PR. The best link I guess would be one from Larry Page who Page Rank is named after LOL. Linking is not really SEO though!
Huh? Google doesn't measure the "quality" of a link just by the PR of the page on which the link appears. You have no clue whether the page is the slightest bit relevant... whether it's a link from an exact copy of the content of your URL because you submitted your page as an article to some articles submission site (which Google may be discounting)... whether the link is from a paid directory that Google may be discounting or not counting at all... You don't know what link text they are using on the PR6 vs the PR1 sites... What if the PR6 link uses link text "click here". That is not going to help you rank for any keyword phrase except "click here" and Adobe/Apple already own the SERPs for that phrase. What if it's a PR6 online casino site and they are linking to you're baby diaper site? In that case I'd rather have 100 links from relevant baby-related PR1 sites because not only are they relevant, but I will get credit for 100 different, likely varied link texts which could help my URL rank for lots of varied phrases instead of a single phrase. The question is impossible to answer because there are probably another 100 variables that you are not considering.
100 PR1 links is a hundred links where I come from. What I mean in other words is that I think we all miss( I include myself too) the point of seo and forgetting that we all want traffic to get to our site. Yes having 1 link from a pr6 site would be nice but...it's just one link. Why not have a whole lot of sites that have a link to your site and INCREASE your chance of someone seeing you link and clicking on it and getting a visitor.
Pr 6 because the high Pr website gives u better result as compared to other. if site is your niche then definitely u get better result as compare to less pr website
you are right dear but its not about people see our links and we get visitors its that google like links from high page rank sites so if we have a link from PR 6 site then its better then 100 PR 0 backlinks
As already discussed, relevancy is a bi factor. But one more thing is if the PR6 already has 100 links in the same page and all PR1 links you get are primarily to you, (no others to share it) then 100 PR1s are better. The number of links which share the PR is also a factor. Again 100 PR1 links give you 100 different ways for Google to reach your site even if priority is bit lower. What happens if the PR6 page is not working and you have only on inbound link?
Even if one link is PR6, the niche is important, a medical site listed on PR6 gaming sites has no value.
Hi, In my point of view PR6 is more important than 100 PR1 links because quality is more important than quantity.
Its always necessary to have quality backlinks than quantity, as one link form a niche website with good PR would definitely increase your rank in SERP's.
I think it depens, is it just backlink somewhere in footer ... than PR6 is better then 100x PR1 ... but if this is inside relevant content of page than 100x PR1 can bring more real visitors. Because there is a chance that 100 pages could read more readers than PR6 page and click on your link. It depends how much you preffer only SEO effect or if you want direct benefit from links. If page visitors of 100xPR1 pages is much higher than visitors of PR6 page, than for normal link from text could be real effect better then SEO effect.
Its game of number so I would like to have 100 than 1. because I will have 100 links rather than one.
